My dear Crake:
As I said in the best scenes thread, I think my purpose in life is to drive you absolutely nuts. I was just thinking what a remarkable collection of talent that has come together on this board, some of the writing is as good as any novel I've read. I know you have a number of scenarios in your head for us to work on in after the Time Jump and I look forward to these but I wondered if after those have run their natural course, you would consider reworking the world? As long as we are in Westeros, we are in George's world, and he has made it quite clear that he does not approve of fan lit.
What would you think of starting a conversation about what kind of world we could build, another pseudohistorial fantasy kingdom, or multiple kingdoms (with Elane and Jon Royce being from India & Saudi Arabia, those might be sources to add to trad European sources), or space opera setting? As this world would be ours, we could do as we want with it, including publish. It most very likely will never happen even if we change the world but I love the notion of being part of the first truly collective fantasy/sci fi novel in publishing, a Wild Cards written not as individual pieces but woven out of the RPing we do here on the board. Multiple perspectives as in ASOIAF would be a must and I think some echo of the House structure you've developed here would also important.
Anyway, this is your lovely world, Crake, so it is entirely up to you whether to keep it Westeros or not, but thought I would throw the possibility of something else out there.
