After doing up his breaches again Darien surveyed the deck and noticed Rolf Whyte was no where to be found. He decided to approach the men working on the sail and gave them a curt nod. "You fellows wouldn't happen to know where I might find something to eat?"

As if on cue Darien heard a splash behind him, and saw an Iron born hauling up a wriggling fat fish on the end of a spear.
One man had a needle between his teeth and so said nothing, but the other one jerked his finger. "There ya go." He said.

Darien smiled at the fact that the tough ironborn men were actually usuing needles and turned to the man who had caught the fish. "Breakfast I believe? That looks like a fine fish you have caught there." Darien walked over and looked at the dead animal - he knew little of fish and couldn't possibly name the species. "Perhaps later you could show me how to catch one with a spear?"

"You look for a fish... than you stab it." The Ironborn replied, with no trace of jesting. He pulled the fish off the spear, and than tossed it on the deck, where it flopped around, before finally dying. The man knelt down, and took a dirk, slitting the fish all the way across its belly, and beginning to neatly fillet it.
"What's your name?" The man asked after awhile.

Darien was humored by the simplicity of which the man spoke about the hunt for fish. To him it looked like complicated business, but then he hadn't grown up catching fish with a spear. He watched intently as the man filleted the fish, hoping to remember for future use.
"My name is Darien." He replied to the man's question. "Darien Stone. And yours?" He was half expecting the man to be named Hroth Greenmanslayer, or something of that type.

"Sparr." The man replied. "You want?" he said holding up the fishhead for Darien to examine.

Staring at the fishhead, Darien wondered if the man would offer him any other part of the fish. "Ah, yes... why not? I have never tried fishhead before, but there's a first time for everything." He grabbed the head and held it up to his face. One of the animal's eyes had popped and was now oozing out of it's socket, causing Darien's stomach to churn. "Where do I got to get this fried?" he asked the man.

The man shook his head. "Not fried." He said, taking the two large fish steaks he'd made, and bringing them over to a pan cooking over a fire and placing them both inside.
"While you're puking up your fish head, mind telling me what the fuck you're doing on my ship?"

His stomach churning again, Darien had a small nibble of the fish before decided he would not be able to eat it. When he heard the man's question he grumbled in anger. "Me and my companion Rolf, wherever he is, were allowed to bed here by Asha. I suppose she hasn't told anyone about that."

"Fuck, why would she tell me, only my fucking boat." He said, before ripping the fish head out of Darien's hand, and tossing it up into the air, where it was snatched by a waiting bird.
"Christ sake Greenlander, we're not wildlings. We cook our food." He shifted the steaks around a little so they didn't burn.
"Where'd you meet the littlest member of House Sparr at exactly?"

Although he was glad that he wouldn't be forced to eat the firsh head, Dariens till felt uncomfortable around this man, the lord Sparr. "The Dead-eyed Fish is where we met her. Offered her service to lady Royce as well, although I don't know if she is really inclined to taking up the offer." He wasn't in the slightest surprised however that Asha was the younged of her house. However wild she was, she was also pretty reckless.

"And it occurred to you to try and hire away my crew without speaking to me first... because why?" The man said, poking the fish with his dagger to see that its tender. It was, and he removed it from the skillet, and put one steak on a little mental plate which he gave to Darien.

Darien took the plate and took a bite out of the fish before looking up at lord Sparr. "Well, I merely asked her opinion on the matter first, rather than consult with you and then find she didn't want in on the business at all." He took another bite and chewed on the delicious fish before continuing. "Of course now I can consult with you, but I still don't know if she will say yes."

"And what if my answer is no?" The man asked curiously, as he took the fish in his hand and chewed thoughtfully, pieces of fish flesh dropping into his beard.

"Then perhaps I'll fight you for her." Darien said, no smile on his face; his blue eyes burning intently. He didn't know where this courage had come from, but he suddenly had an urge to see the woman, crazy as she was. "After all, that's what you ironborn do, is it not?"
