Patrek let the young prince down inside his tent still in the armor so that he can't run away
Patrek grimaces, "What you did today was foolish, prince. Did you see what happened to Ser Harte? What would the king think if you became crippled or dead?"

"You are not the boy's wet-nurse, Redfort," Felryn said as he followed them into the tent.
He turned to Rodrick, with a look that was cold and indifferent. "If you are going to enter any more competitions, see that you actually know what you are doing, that was shameful. If I'm going to be blamed for your death at least have the decency to look impressive while you die."

Patrek grunts, "As long as I'm guarding the prince, I will try to make sure he sees the severity of his actions whether they be foolish or not".

Felryn turns his gaze on Patrek, "just focus on stopping the prince from running off so much, Redfort, if you can manage that. Leave the disciplining of the boy to me."

Patrek shrugs ignoring the barb, he didn't see any Ironborn men searching for the boy, "depends on how good a job you do".

Felryn snorts, "my men who were charged with guarding the prince will also be reprimanded, and I expect them to accept responsibilty, not answer with sullen retorts."

"I do not answer to you, Harlaw. We are equaly responsible for the prince's upbringing, maybe I less so when some of the Kingsguard joins us," Patrek sais.

Felryn glared at Patrek, "learn your place, Redfort. You are nothing more than an umpjumped household guard and you severely over-estimate your role with the prince. He is my ward, you are simply here to hold his hand and make sure he knows to say his "my lord" and "my lady"s, and you are doing a piss-poor job of it at that."

Patrek raises his eyebrow and smiles slighty which turns into a grimace as his mouth twitch. "and jousting, your very own words on Pyke, this surely falls under that category does it not?"

Felryn looked at the man as if he was an idiot. "Do you think you have outsmarted me? Yes, teach him to joust if you wish it so bloody much, he clearly needs the help. If you can not understand the difference between that and the present case then you're dumber than that thick skull of yours gives you credit for."

"A lecture about how dangerous jousting can be, especially for a boy his age is very relevant to the sitation," Patrek replies "Which is what he would have gotten had you not interupted. It does not matter if he knew what he was doing, which he certainly did not" Patrek give the prince a look at this. "At the best he would be crippled had he managed to get on the horse".

"It is your responsibility to protect the prince from endangering himself, it is my responsibilty to punish him when you inevitably fail to do your job. If I wish you to lecture the boy on the dangers of jousting, I will ask you to do it, elsewise keep to instructing him in it and stopping him from doing any further stupid acts. If you cannot understand that, then I will have to get the Regent to find someone who can."

Aranya Royce entered the tent, looking grim. "Is the foolish boy alive?" she demanded. She glanced at their faces, realized she had walked in on an argument, and pushed on without caring. She examined the little prince.
"I've sent for my maester," she said. "He'll be here shortly."

"The boy is fine," Felryn said, instantly distracted from Patrek to look at Aranya. He unintentionally licked his top lip. "How is it that he managed to enter himself into your joust, Royce?" Felryn asked with a note of hositility.
