Rodrick turned and looked at Jeyne, his eyes going wide and running up and down her childish body, "Well, there must be a dragon around, for I have mound my beautiful princess. Just point out the direction of the fell beast and I shall slay him, and then we may marry." He smiled at her boyishly.
Rickon turns and looks at her too, and blushes. Reddening more as Rodrick speaks he turns to watch the jousting.

"I don't think it was an accident either," Daeron says. "Ser Patrek always seemed nice to me. Somebody should teach this Thomas a lesson." Daeron's face colors, and he is obviously angry. "We should speak to him," Brynden's eye glinted. Selyse laid a hand on each of their arms. "You're both stupid. If you do anything, you'll get beaten up. You can't go up to knights and boss them."

Aleza arrived to the jousting grounds, eager to partake of the tournament festivities, as always, with a broad smile displayed proudly upon her face.

Ser Mychel stood behind the King and his brother, his white cloak flapping in the light breeze. His turn in the lists was not for some time, and one of his Sworn Brothers would relieve him when he left the Lord's box.
"That was not an aimed blow, young masters," Ser Mychel said slowly. "It is impossible to aim the shards of a broken lance, it was indeed poor luck for Ser Patrek, but this other man is no criminal. Cloaking a murder under the shroud of an accident during a tourney is not so easy as one might think, as your previous Lord Regent found out, milady," he said, turning towards the young Lady of Lannister.

"He can't stop us," Daeron says fiercely, "We should speak to him. He should have to pay a price for hurting Ser Patrek like that."

Aranya returned from the maester's tent with a grim look, and spoke with one of the assistant healers before returning to her seat in the lord's box. She then noticed the young westerland girl, and looked her over with an unreadable eye. Wasn't this Roland's new scribe, or assistant? She beckoned her steward over and murmured to him, and then Aranya's steward, Rolf Whyte, crossed the grounds to Aleza Payne.
"My lady," Rolf Whyte said, with a bow. "Lady Royce invites you to sit with her in the lord's box."

Aleza, smiled on, mouth slightly agape with amazement, and nodded incoherantly,c learly overhwemled with excitement as she followed the man towards the Lord's Box, and the Lady Paramount of the Crownlands.

Rolf lead her through the crowd and seated her beside Lady Aranya, who was sitting with King Rickon, Prince Rodrick, Ser Benfry, Coldiron, Harlaw, and others.
"Well met, my lady of Payne," Aranya said, looking up with a smile. "It's Aleza Payne, isn't it? Come, sit."

Aleza glanced mesmerized around the box, "it is," she agreed dreamily, and took the seat which had been indicated for her. She smiled gleefully at Lady Royce, saying "A true honor to meet you, Lady Aranya; you are no less than a legend in this Kingdom."

Lord Danforth Yew enters the Jousting Ground, and makes his way for Lady Royce's box. When he is stopped by the guards, he looks up plaintively at Lady Aranya.

"I am sure the disgrace is bad enough," little Selyse said. "Look, will you just have a honeycake Dare? It's the grown-ups job to speak to him anyway."
Jeyne laughed lightly. "I think my lord prince will need a littler maid to be his bride, or else he will just have to wait a few years."
Rhae smiled and twirled a gold lock about her delicate fingers. "Indeed," she said softly. "A maid likes a knight to court her."
"Am I?" Aranya looked amused. "I was not aware of that, but you are kind to call me so. So, my lady, I hear you are working for my cousin Roland? That is a rather unusual occupation for a highborn lass like yourself. What made you decide on it?"

"I am new to the court," Aleza admitted earnestly, "I have never been more than ten miles away from my father's keep in my whole life--I wanted something to occupy my time. Something meaningul. I prefer negotiations to needlework any day, if I'm being honest," she laughed, "And my father is such a great admirer of the Lord Hand, and my grandfather knew him as well...I suppose I wanted to contribute something to my new community." she concluded, smiling as always.

Rodrick laughed at Jeyne, "What do you mean?" He glanced at his brother, "Is nine too young for such a mature woman as yourself?" He laughed again loudly.
Rickon paled and continued to ignore his brother and the girls.

Aranya applauded as Harlaw unseated Jon Lydden, and then raised her eyebrows as Ser Douglas unseated his opponent. "We need to watch this Ser Dougal Lannister," she remarked to Ser Jonjen Hill beside her. "He's turning out to be quite a warrior."
At Aleza's words, she said, "Your grandfather knew Roland? Why, then I might have known him too. I do feel old now. Who was your grandfather?"

Lord Tully turned and looked at Aleza, "We have not met milady, I am Lord Pieter Tully."
