The tourney grounds consist of the wide field where knights and lords set up their tents, the wooden stadium where commons and highborn alike can watch the jousting and melee, the archery ground, and a stretch of dirt track that is leveled out for the races.
A traveling fair has congregated, setting up stalls in anticipation of the crowds. With them come armorers and horse sellers, who are always at hand when knights are at a tournament.

Ser Grant Connington arrives, and his pages begin to erect his modest-sized tent, which flew the red and white combatant griffins of his House. He was one of the earlier lordlings to arrive, but he had been in King's Landing prior to Lord Dondarrion's wedding and decided to ride up to the Tourney Grounds at Duskendale early.
ooc: Aranya, if you want to play as my wife I'll say she came with me to the tourney.

OOC: Sure.
Lady Alyanna Swann rode with her husband, her women in attendance. She would be offered housing with the other ladies in the Dun Fort, but she could think of no place she'd rather be than with Grant.

After his tent was set up, he rode up to the modest castle with his wife and her serving maids. She would recieve quarters there, and he went to the castle's steward to enter his name into the lists. Ser Garlan Swann had his own tent pitched next to Grant's, and rode with his good-brother and sister up to the castle as well.

The Master of Games, Galwyn, entered Ser Grant's names for the events he had chosen.
When Lady Aranya heard that the Conningtons had arrived, she came riding up on a snorting grey horse, and greeted Ser Grant warmly. "I am pleased to see you, ser."

"It is a pleasure to meet you, my lady," Ser Grant said to the Mistress of Laws. "Your name carries great renown throughout this realm. This is my wife, Lady Alyana, and her brother Ser Garlan Swann, the heir to Stonehelm."

Aranya greeted Alyana and Ser Garlan with smiles, and said, "You have ridden quite a way. I would be honored if you would break bread with me at the summerhouse just over yonder, while your men set up your tent?"
The summerhouse was at the edge of the field, and had been cleaned and aired out and a table set so that Aranya could casually socialize with the tourney participants without hauling them all up to the castle.

All three agreed graciously, and turned their horses to follow Aranya's majestic grey one.

Returning from the sign-up tent, the Blackcrown contingent looks to find any other men of the Far Reach with whom they can pitch their tents. On finding none have arrived yet, they settle for area near a small group of tents on the outskirts of the field. They do not recognise the insignia borne by these tents.
"Which house are you lot here representing?" Antony calls out to a man sitting nearby.
"House Sarsfield," comes the reply.
Antony looks to his brother, who shrugs.

Antony looks back to see the young man emerge from his tent. "Ah, well met Lord Harwin," he says with a small bow. "I am Ser Antony Bulwer, and this miserable bastard here is my brother Lord Oliver. The big bugger staring off into space over there is Ser Roger of Blackcrown."
Oliver also makes his way over and bows. "Well met, Lord Sarsfield. Tell me, where are you from? Please forgive my ignorance but I do not recognise your house name. Are you of the Stormlands?"

Harwin laughs. "Hardly, I am from the Westerlands, of a small house sworn to the the Rock. What are you men planning on competing in?"
