"Lord Wyl, I know you understand why you are here, but do you know why your actions are important?" Alexander asks.

"You have defeated us Lord Irwyn, but we are not children. I understand the purpose."

"Your actions are important because the Lord Hand and I want Dorne to be returned to a productive member of the seven kingdoms and we believe that can only be done with a Dornish leader. You actions today are important because it is the first step to returning Dorne to Dornish rule," Alexander says ignoring the barb by Lord Wyl.

Lord Garyson eyed Irwyn. "The Reach also attempted independence, and it was never under occupation. Why should Dorne be any different?"

"The Reach was minimized by dividing its rule, and the King did not have to deal with the complete loss of many noble houses including the Lord Paramounts. The Reach also had noble Lords who were against the action the entire war and did their utmost to minimize the damages. Despite three such requests on my part before conflict, the Dornish Lords here gathered did not decide to take a knee until the complete destruction of their army and even now a majority of which still support the Martells in exile."

Lord Wyl has no answers to these assertions, he frowns, and looks at the Lord Hand.

Roland regarded Lord Wyl. "The differences in situation and justice the Governor-General points out are indeed the case, Lord Wyl. However, let us not trouble ourselves with debate. If you are to be a loyal subject to the King, then you must desire the King's Peace. Is it not so?"

"I do desire it." says Lord Wyl. "please accept my oath of loyalty on his behalf Lord Hand."

He did so in a slow and deliberate manner, as though trying to convince himself of the sanctity of the event.

"A have a son and two daughters milord. The boy is oldest, at 12, and the daughters are 7 and 5. I ask you please spare them any unpleasantness, they had no part in what occurred here."

Roland nodded. "I would not punish a child. However, it might be best if they see some other parts of the realm. Your son will be made squire for someone of appropriate station. Your eldest daughter will go to the same lord as a ward. Your youngest daughter will stay with you here in Dorne."
