"That is subjective, I suppose," she answered thoughtfully, placing the bottles she had collected in a vast huddle near the entrance, "But you wil certainly never come to terms with reality if you hide from it in bottles and beneath pretty girls."

"Maybe I can not come to terms with this reality." He replied in a quiet voice.

"Unfortunately, the nature of reality requires that you come to terms with it--the only alternatives are death and insanity, both of which you seem to be approaching at an impossibly fast pace," her tone fizzled pathetically when she continued, "We all must face certain unfortunate truths, Timm--there are many things in my life I wish I had never done, or that I would not have had to do. I have commited actions that I would not fault others for holding in the greatest contempt; they are regrettable, but necessary for my own survival, and for the survival of thousands."

Timm stood and looked her in the eye, "I know Tristeza. What you sacrifice for your people... as awful as it is..." He pauses unable to say what he feels. "I can not stop you. I will not stop you. But all I can think of when I am sober is stopping you. I just don't want to think anymore." He rubbed at his aching head.

She returned his gaze unblinkingly, her face stern. "I appreciate your understanding," she said, "Timm...You are a good friend. But you are a Westerman, not a Dornishman, as you have made painfully clear. You are not sworn to me. You are no longer my guard. In your current state you are of use to nobody. Perhaps you should go to Piers. He may have a home for you more suitable than any I could offer."

He turns from her, his lithe back to her, "And now you send me away. Timm Vikary has become too disgusting and useless its time to ship him off to the Beetle. I will go. But not to him, he won't have me. I will go to King's Landing I think."

She shook her head incredulously, "If I could be anywhere but here, Timm, I would be; I thought it would be a gift to you to grant you leave. And what of value exactly, am I sending you away from? A pit of liquor and whores? Piers could do you better. I am nothing but a servant. I am equipped to offer you nothing."

Timm turned and looked into her eyes, "You can give me all I want. You are the only one." He stepped forward and embraced her pulling her into a deep kiss.

Tristeza pulled away from him fiercely, and looked away, unable to hold his eyes, "You do not understand the situation fully, Timm. What I do for the sake of the Dornish people is horrible, indeed, but for more reasons than you know. And it must certainly not be duplicated." her voie was faint, and sinister, and her hands shook slightly as she spoke.

Timm steps back from her like he was wounded. Sitting down on his bed he says mournfully, "I did not realize I was behaving like him. I will go to King's Landing tomorrow. I am sorry."

"You were not acting like him," Tristeza said levelly, "You could never be like him. The man is barely human; I have never met someone so apathetic as he...so able to ignore to suffering of others for his own satisfaction. You are a better man innately than he could ever aspire to become," she assured him, "You need not go, Timm. But you do need to stop this madness," she gestured to the pile of bottles near the doorway, "You are better than a life like that."

"I have no life, Tristeza." Timm looked at his strong hands. "I have nothing. But hate. That is not enough for me."

"I am sorry," she admitted softly, "You deserve better than the hand you have been dealt. But surrendering your life to petty and uncouth distractions is not the answer for an unhappy life; it is only its furtherment."

Timm stands and nods, "You are right. It is time I take control of my life." He reaches out and takes her hands, "At least he will keep you safe."

"I should think so," she answered flatly, "I am certainly paying dearly for it."
