Erik scoffs at the time it takes her to get ready, he only needing to pull on a new tunic and a cloak.
"And when have I been anything less than gallant, my lady?" He asks Dacey, accompanied by a particularly grand bow.

Dacey snorted. "You, my lord? Gallant like a bulldog." She took his arm as they walked back down to the docks.

Dacey and Erik boarded the ship, her maid bringing up four bulging bags. Dacey's eyes were drawn to the sea.

Some of Erik's men help with the bags, the rest of them shouting some rather lewd suggestions at the maid. Once the bags are secure in the cabin, Erik heads back out on deck, yelling at the sailors to get the ship under way. Before long, they are sailing out into the Blackwater, and he calls Dacey up on deck to see the city shrinking in the distance.

The maid, used to this, blushes but laughs, and jeers right back.
Dacey joined Erik on the deck, standing by the rail and watching King's Landing recede. She felt a little scared, but very pleased and eager.

Erik puts his arm around her and gives her a quick kiss on the cheek, not wanting to show too much affection in front of the crew.
"Nervous?" He whispers.

"Of course not," she scoffed, recovering herself. She smiled up at him. "Thank you for bringing me along though. How long is it to Pentos? Are there any islands on the way?"

"Well," He says, pondering, "Lys and Tyrosh aren't too far out of the way. Nor is Lorath. Could swing by those, for a day or two, if you want."

"We don't have to if they're out of the way," Dacey said. "You have business, after all. Speaking of that, what takes my lord to Pentos?"

Erik doesn't answer for a long moment. Finally, he says, "Mortimer's there, he needs a ride home. He's just had a little something made for me."

"That will be fun, seeing Mortimer," Dacey said. "What's the little surprise he has for you? Ooh tell me." She looked at him appealingly.

"Nothing you need to concern yourself with," Erik tells her, adding a pinch on her ass for good measure. "I don't even know if he's managed to get it done, to tell you the truth."

Dacey grinned. "Is it beyond his means?"

"I don't think there's very much at all beyond him. But you never know. It could be he couldn't find someone to get the job done, or maybe he decided to rob me and skip town. We shall see."

Dacey privately didn't believe Mortimer would ever deceive Erik, considering how he had taken care of her and the others. "Well, let us talk of other things. I have always wondered, is Bear Island an Iron Island in its shape and appearance as well as its banners? Or is it as green as King's Landing?"
