"If you attempt to disappear again, one of us will give chase, and the other will sound the alarm. You will eventually be found, beaten into unconsciousness, and turned over to the Lady." said the guard on the left looking at Brandon, as if daring him.

Brandon raises an eyebrow, "To the library it is then. Would you mind leading the way?"

One of them goes ahead and motions for Brandon to follow, the other one taking up the rear. After a few moments, they arrive at two large double doors, inside is a large room, almost twice as tall as the corridors, with books on shelfs all the way to the ceiling.

Brandon whistles and looks around for some interesting books, or those most often read.

"Keep it down please, this is a library not a tavern." came a voice from behind a stack of shelfs. Brandon could see a short, stout man, holding several books under his arm, glaring at him in between "Songs of the Steel: A catalog of Westerosi Family Heirlooms", and "Pillow books of Lys: Now with double the illustrations!"

The man fingered the maester's chain around his neck, glaring balefully at Brandon's utter disrespect.
"What is your topic of research?" He asked doubtfully.

Brandon thinks for a while, "It would be lovely if you had any books on castles and secret passages, Maester... Oh, forgot the introduction, I'm Brandon Royce". Brandon held out his hand.

"If there were books about it, it wouldn't be a secret." said the Maester, as he shakes Brandon's hand. "Maester Gunder, a pleasure to meet you. What brings you to Hellholt?"

"Lady Uller did," Brandon smiles slightly love struck "Are there any books on how to construct such passages then, Maester?"

The maester raised his eyebrow, "Are you a castle builder ser?" He asked curiously, as he fingered his chain. Black Gold, and two glittering links of Valyrian steel were visible.

Brandon smiles, "Well not really, but in finding how they are built one can easier notice where they are." Brandon looks at the Maester chain curiously, "What does the Valyrian link represent, Maester?"

He looks down at his chain, "Ah.. a focus on the... errhm... higher mysteries." Maester Gunder says, clearing his throat. "Not a study popular at the Citadel, and we who spend the effort tend to get relegated to serving in the... less comfortable keeps. I was all in line for a job as the Maester at Rosby, till I went and forged in Valyrian."

"the higher mysteries." said the maester, "and if I told you, well than they wouldn't be mysteries would they?"
