A while later, Gaharr returns and Beric leads him out to the yard. They stay there for two hours and then both return, sitting down and sharing a bottle of wine.

Morho comes up, hand safely bandaged. "Well, Ser Janos, I am glad to have met a worthy man today," he said, now with warmth and respect in his eyes. "Forgive me for my earlier words."

"Your words are forgiven. Please sit." He gestured at a chair. "This is my good friend and guard Gaharr Tohn." Beric said, nodding to the giant of a man sitting opposite him. "How fairs your hand?"

Morho nodded to Tohn and sat. "It's useless for a while," he said with a rueful grin, looking at his bandaged hand. "That was a good swing for yours. Still, I hope it heals in a few months and I can fight again."

"I have to agree with you. You have a skill that I did not anticipate. However, it might be safer walking around without your sword. As I recall, a man who walks with a sword in Braavos, is a man looking for a challenge." Beric lifted his cup, noticed it was empty and refilled it.

"That is true, ser," Morho admitted. He smiled. "You know something of our customs. Now tell me, what brings a knight like you all the way to Braavos?"

"Well, that is indeed a good question." Beric paused for a moment, but not so long to give Morho the impression he had to make something up. "My friend Gaharr Tohn here has recently become a grandfather. I have come over to see his grandchild." For a brief moment Beric could see a little smile coming over Gaharr's lips. "So, Morho. What is it exactly you do? Are you the type of Bravo who lazes around all day, or do you have ambitions?" He asked this with humor in his voice.

"You came all the way to see his grandchild? Then you must be good friends indeed. As for I, I am a bravo to be hired out right now. I used to work for a high lady, until I joined her in bed and she threw me out for fear of her husband." Morho laughed.

'Grandchild? You're an idiot, Beric. This man isn't stupid.' Beric though to himself. "That is an unfortunate thing for you to happen, or maybe quite fortunate. You are a good man and I would be willing to hire you."

Morho had guessed right then, when he thought this one was a man of means. "I would be glad to work for a man I respect. How long are you here in Braavos for?"

"For the moment I cannot say, however I believe it will be a while. There are a few people I will still need to meet with. And your hand will have to heal." Beric looked at Gaharr. "My friend, I would like you to go up to my room and write a note of what you deem important our friend Morho here should know about his employer." Gaharr nodded and left. "Now, Morho." Beric said. "Tell me a bit about your past."

Morho shrugged. "My father was a bravo, and his father before him. We have been in this city for generations. My uncle worked in the Palace when the previous Sealord - the dimwit - was assassinated. He was killed for not being able to stop the assassin."

"It seems slightly unfair, I must say. However that must be the way of bravos." Beric finished his drink and watched Gaharr come back. The large man handed Morho a small letter and sat. "Morho, if I have a few more things to talk over with with Gaharr here, so if you would like to meet me here on the morrow we can discuss the matters of your employment."

"Of course, my lord," And the slender bravo gave Beric a low bow that he certainly wouldn't have given him a few hours ago. "I look forward to working for you." He smiled, and walked away into the crowds, cradling his hand.
When he read the letter later, his eyes widened, and then he chuckled to himself.
