Cedric enters. He looks somewhat disshelved. His eyes are raw, as if he has been crying. But he smiles as he sees Piers.
"It has been some time."

Piers turns and looks at Cedric, "Is there something wrong?"

"No, sir." He threw on his best smile. "I was just visiting Clive. It's a true shame. He will not be able to walk for some time. But at least he is alive." He straightened. "You asked to see me?"

"Yes, Cedric what do you have planned for your future?" Piers asked.

Cedric stood, thinking for only a moment before responding, "I wish to govern."
It was a simple response.

Piers chuckles, "I meant more immediately. Do you have any plans for the next several months."

"No I do not." He said. "Why? Do you wish for me to do something for you?" Cedric was honest, and had much respect for any man who had spent a good amount of time in his father's inner confidence.

"I am Hand now. ANd I was hoping you would work for me, as a sort of an apprentice. Work with me and learn how to govern in all its intricisies." Piers asked. "It will be fun. I promise." Piers laughs.

"How could I say no, Lord?" Cedric made a brief glance towards the cabinet. "You wouldn't happen to have anything to wet my parched throat with, would you? That is, also to celebrate my newly acquired occupation."
The boy stopped, his mind working. "Did Randal ask you to do this?"

Piers motions for Cedric to help himself, and then Piers had a seat. "Randal Lannister and I do not talk. I think I am a little too close to Baldwin in his mind."

Cedric takes a bottle and pours himself a glass. Tasting it, he sighs with pleasure. "So what does this involve, exactly?"

Piers smiles, "You would stay here, observe me and do what I tell you. I will be running the kingdom for the King so a good learning experience for you I think."
"For example, who do you think is the happiest the King is gone?" Piers asks with a devilish look on his face.

"You, I would think." Cedric joked. "His enemies, to be sure. Though I know not who they are."

"I think I am third on the list. His darling wife is first, and someone else is second." Piers chuckles, "She hates her husband with a great passion. You must look to read the emotions of people's faces. All can be read if you study them enough."
