Upon hearing the news of the assassinations, Ser Mors Lydden and his dreadful army ride out and destroy every single village and town upon the rivers Vaith and Greenblood. Their provisions are taken, their people put to the sword, and the buildings burned to ashes. At each village a search ensues for hidden soldiers or noblemen and women, and a few of the people are tortured for answers before being killed.
