"We're settled," Aranya said, rising. "I am glad you are such a sensible man. After that motherfucker Barret, I didn't think there were any intelligent men in the Reach. I will keep in touch with you, and you with me."
She tossed three copper stars on the table. "Should I give two instead?"

"Lord Barret had his moments," Francis said, "Although I admit my cousin had his faults. Speaking of faults, the cook did his best, give the three coppers, one for food, and two for privacy." Francis stood, nodding to the lady respectfully, and preparing to depart.

"Lord Barret tried to kill my sister," Aranya said coldly. "He is lucky he died by his own sword, and not mine." She donned her cloak and left the three copper stars on the table. "I think it's a fair deal."

"Well, I'll count that as two of his many errors. One for trying, and another for failure. And grow not angry with me, for if i give Barret false praise, it will be just another lie I am telling on your behalf. Before I forget, how do you wish that we contact each other?"

"I'm not angry. And ravens are fine. Just don't be intensely explicit about details and the ravens should work."
They walked out to the stables. Aranya's huge, ill-tempered black courser was led out, snapping at the stable hand irritably.

Francis nods, and he and his man walk to two riding horses, soon saddling and riding out. "Perhaps next milady we will meet in better surroundings." And than he was gone

Aranya nodded and mounted her courser. The streets were deserted at this hour; there was little or no chance that they had been seen. She put her heels to her horse, and her black shot forward, bearing her swiftly away from Longhorn.
