Nah, this attack happens before the surrender. So note to everyone, they should RP as if this battle has already happened, and I suppose be non-specific about it's outcome until it is known.

For the record, if this battle happened in the past Seagard should be lightly defended. Their ships would be up north and their soldiers with the Riverlands army. The forces here would likely be under the command of Lord Erryk Mallister. He used to be Tytos' third, so if you need skills you can look there. But if I recall correctly he did not have anything above expert.

Round 1: The Sea Battle
Iron Born: 100 Ships (Admiral Felryn Harlaw: Master of Naval Battle:90) Riverlands:25 Ships (Admiral Erryk Mallister: Novice of Naval Battle:50)
Iron Born:170 Riverlanders:68
It is a total reckoning. The Riverlander ships are smashed, hundreds sinking into the frozen waters.
Ironborn: 5 ships Riverlanders: 25 ships
Erryk Mallister is knocked unconscious when his ship is boarded, he is taken prisoner.
Round 2: Ironborn Storm the Castle
Bringing their boats up onto shore, the Ironborn immediately begin their storming of the castle using ropes hooks, ladders and rams.
Iron Born: 9,500 men (Lead by Grandmaster Meevis Humble) Riverlanders: 1,250 men (Lead by a unnamed Expert knight)
Ironborn: 192 Riverlanders: 167
The Ironborn, their anger long pent up at sea, is vented on the hapless Riverlanders. Soon the Scythe flies from the tower, and the priests of the dead god begin committing souls to the Drowned god.
Ironborn: -750 killed, others wounded. Riverlanders: -900 killed, scores executed, others wounded.
Let the pillaging commence.

Seagard probably would have had closer to five ships still in their harbor.

Then you should have spoken up earlier, Boras.

I did. I didn't realize the Stranger considered 25 ships "lightly defended". Especially since I estimate Seagard has about 25 ships total, and 20 of those were assaulting Bear Island at the time.

Eh, you had plenty of opportunity to define what the exact numbers were defending Seagard. Anyway, you're joing our side, a victory for the Ironborn, woo! The only good Riverlander is a dead Riverlander, right?

Of course. Just saying that going by the numbers, this battle gives the Riverlands about twenty more ships than they should realistically possess. Unless we assume they have no naval presence at all on the east coast.

Well plenty of those ships sank attacking Bear Island, anyway.

Sorry. I was under the impression that Seagard was the River's only major port and the center of their naval operations.

It's their only port on that side of Westeros. They also have Saltpans and Maidenpool on the east coast.

Sorry guys. I mistook Maidenpool and Saltpans for Crownlands. Although there was no naval fight on that side anyway. Maybe they used Frey's canal.
