"Only the word of the late Lord Barclay himself, but in the strange and unlikely case that Barclay was lying, it seems unlikely that the any of the whole Westerlands team was not involved in the attack in some way, and are equally responsible for the murder."

"If the prosecution has nothing further, the arrested may present his case."

An Ironborn comes in and brings a message to Theon, Theon reads it for a moment then looks up.
"Lord Redwyne, in correspondence between Lord Harlaw and Lord Lydden of Deep Den, Lord Lydden has written: "We believe Jaymes Farman to be guilty, and I have heard that back in the west, Brax has admitted."
Theon smiles and looks at Jaymes.

A Redwyne servant takes the letter, and brings it forward, it is examined. "Maester Yohanson will examine the seal and contents of the letter to report on its apparent validity, in the mean time we will continue."

A messenger comes and whispers in Lord Peyton's ear.
"We will adjourn for a short time, during which time we will begin with Lord Farman's defense." The tribunal stood, and Lord Farman is marched back to his cell and securely guarded.
The Far Reach lords head to Lord Peyton's solar to discuss a matter.

Jaymes sat in his chair, drumming his fingers in his lap. He'd always had nervous hands; they always had to be doing something, moving. He never could sit completely idle, even as a child. He cracked his knuckles, and then twisted around cracking his back loudly. He looked at one of his guards, and gained the man's attention. "Could I perhaps have a word with my Judge? In private if possible." The guard looked at him for a moment, and then walked to the solar to deliver the request.

A few moments later Lord Peyton Redwyne appears. He enters the room and nods at Farman.
"Is there something I can help you with Lord Farman?" He asks.

"If badger Lord writes that Brax has confessed I cannot hope to claim that I am wholly innocent, so I will tell you the truthful events of the melee. However, in exchange for my testimony, I want your assurance that the ironborn will not be allowed to carry out their barbaric desire to drown me, short of receiving the King's permission himself. Regents seem to come and go too quickly." Lord Jaymes looked at the old man, whose lined face was completely impassive.

Peyton nodded, "If what you have to say is worthy, your testimony will be required against the others. Thus there can be no execution, drowning or any other way, until you appear in court. Speak and let us here this truth."

"Lord Redwyne, in correspondence between Lord Harlaw and Lord Lydden of Deep Den, Lord Lydden has written: "We believe Jaymes Farman to be guilty, and I have heard that back in the west, Brax has admitted."Theon smiles and looks at Jaymes. OOC: This is how ^^^^^ IC: "Very well, my lord, I suppose my life is in your hands no matter what I have to say. Brax, Marbrand, and Preston were the three who took no part. Before the event started, after I had given my daggers and sword to the tournament stewards to hold, Lord Maurin supplied me with a small dirk, of live steel, with the order that the Maelstrom should never sail again." Jaymes coughed twice, his throat sore from speaking more at once than he had since he had been incarcerated. He cleared his throat and spoke again. "He and Marten stabbed Coldiron and Harlaw, and I followed my orders. After it was done Marten took the three dirks and put them into his horse's saddlebag before slapping it off the field. Only Lord Drumm saw what he had done and Marten ordered his death for it. Ser Walter obeyed, as everyone seems to know." He closed his eyes, and visualised the events of that day in his mind, and then remembered the other man. Kenning he was called, so he added, "I believe Lord Kenning's death was an accident, or indistinguishable from not being one. Marten split his head open, with a blunted sword, on our first charge. That kind of blow is a fluke, I think, just as the one that killed Ser Torn."

The Lord of the Arbor nodded. "Bring quill and paper." he said to a guard, "You will swear to this confession, and sign it. And you will publicly testify against Plumm, and the Lannisters. After which we shall see if the King is willing to be lenient. But I believe he will be."

"Yes, my lord, I will do that, though Ser Walter was following orders as I was. I have loyally served House Lannister for my whole life, as has Ser Walter. I do not deny that what we did was wrong, but misplaced loyalty is not a crime worthy of death." The guard brought a small table and set it in front of Lord Jaymes chair, before placing down parchment a quill, and an inkwell. Lord Jaymes picked up the quill and dipped it into the inkwell. He poised his hands to write in an awkward, two handed fashion since his movement was restricted by the manacles. He looked up at Lord Redwyne and said, "Ah, perhaps I could dictate and affix my seal? Or else you could unchain me and I'll write it myself, but I cannot promise that it will be legible if I attempt to write it like this."

Lord Peyton nodded, and two guards stepped inside and unmanacled him ,then took a position nearby.

I, Ser Jaymes of House Farman, Lord of Faircastle, swear in the eyes of gods and men that what I say forthwith is the truth and nothing else. The events that occurred during the melee event of the Tournament of King's Landing leading to and resulting in the deaths of Quellon of House Drumm, Lord of Old Wyk, and Alagon Merlyn were not of an accidental nature. Of the team fielded by the Lord Regent of the West, Lord Maurin Lannister, only Ser Terely of House Brax, Addam of House Marbrand, and Ser Justin of House Prestor took no part in any criminal activity. After the City Watch disarmed the all of the melee competitors of their live steel blades, Lord Maurin Lannister provided myself, himself, and his son Marten Lannister each with a dirk of live steel. He ordered me to kill Alagon Merlyn and, as a bannerman to House Lannister, I obeyed. During the confusion of the fighting, Lord Maurin stabbed Felryn of House Harlaw, Lord of the Iron Islands, and Marten stabbed Erik of House Coldiron, Lord of Bear Island. The two latter did not die of their wounds but Alagon Merlyn bled out while he lay on the field. After we had each struck, Marten collected the dirks and placed them in the saddlebags of his horse and, in order to remove the evidence of our crimes from the field, slapped it causing it to run off in confusion, which several horses did during the fight. Lord Quellon Drumm saw our actions and Lord Maurin ordered Ser Walter of House Plumm to end his life. He and Marten attacked the lord and killed him.
I swear, by the Seven and by my King, Rickon of House Baratheon, the First of his Name, King of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm, that these words are truthful, and I submit myself to his royal justice.
Signed, Ser Jaymes, son of Mychel, of House Farman, Lord of Faircastle
Jaymes signed the confession, and affixed his seal, though the three ships were impressed into green wax as opposed to his usual blue. He handed it to Lord Redwyne. "What now, my lord?"
