What are guards, like both apprentice swords?

Something like that, usually.

Mortimer is fighting 2 guards. Four more will arrive in two turns, than two more the turn after that until Mortimer is brought down.
Mortimer:90 (-10 for extra opponent) Guard #1: 40 Guard #2: 40
Round 1: Mortimer: 169 Guard #1: 93 (Heavy Hit -35) Guard #2:62 (Heavy Hit -107 killed instantly)
As the pair are marching Mortimer to his cell, He reaches out to the nearest guard and with a brute strength unimaginable, snaps the man's neck like a twig. With a roar, he turns to the other guard, and bashes his fist into the man's face, sending teeth and bone flying and blood spraying.
Round 2: Mortimer: 100 Guard #2: 5
Mortimer: 194 Guard #2:58
Another punch and the guard drops to the ground in agony, and Mortimer brings his boot down onto the man's face, with an audible "crunch."
With the sounds of bootsteps coming quickly, Mortimer snatches a helm, shield and other pieces of clothing from the battered bodies, and takes off, finding a dark corner to attempt a disguise.
Disguise Check: Mortimer(novice): 50
Mortimer: 99
Guards rush to the scene, and see the battered men. They quickly fan out, looking for their killer.
Four guards will attempt to spot Mortimer, rolling at Apprentice.
Guard #1:62 Guard #2:41 Guard #3:41 Guard #4: 53
Mortimer disappears.

Upon hearing of this, Lewys orders that all guards are to travel only ingroups of five no longer, and he himself travels with eight, as does Lord Glover. The castle is put on high alert. Several large groups of guards are sent through the castle in an attempt to find Pyke, with instructions to cut him down immediately. Due to the missing clothes off a dead body, there is also warning that he could be disguised as a Glover guard. The castle gate has been sealed shut, and the thousands of soldiers inside Deepwood Motte's walls are instructed to keep any eye out for anyone matching Pyke's description.

He had time to hand-fight two guards, kill them both, snatch helm and shield and other clothing and don it all before the other guards arrive, even though Lewys ordered them right after the two had left his room (in the same post)? As is documented in the 'Deepwood Motte' thread, Reply # 39, I believe.

You said post six guards. I interpreted that to mean post them "at his cell", which carried a different meaning from escort him "to his cell", since guards usually stand posts are locations, not people. I apologize if we had a different vision, but I think the fight was fairly constructed.

Francis, I agree with that intrepretation, but I was referring to another post altogether, where Lewys clearly states that four guards, not two, are to escort Pyke to his cell. So as not to clutter this up like I have the other threads, I'll send you a PM.

I have asked this fight to be re-rolled. If that will happen or not remains to be seen. Just letting all those involved know.

Here, we have Mortimer being led away, by two guards.
Here, after those guards have already left, we have a serving boy going to find two more unoccupied guards - which I can only assume takes a few minutes - who would then proceed to find Mortimer and his two current guards.
This was addressed in the original post, with my "there are more on the way". As written, Mortimer has a window in which he has only two guards on him.

True, but he would be right beside the solar whenever that happened, or very near. Someone would have undoubtedly heard two men getting thier asses handed to them-- and probably Lewys. There are several thousands of soldiers in Deepwood Motte (There are 10,000 soldiers total, and as many as possible about are in the castle, it would have took less than a minute, if that, to get more guards.) And I used the word "run" to the serving boy-- meaning, hurry up, little bastard, The boy would have no doubt been sprinting to obey. And Francis admitted to only taking into account the second post, and not the first. Anyways, I do not know if this will be re-rolled, I have merely asked for it.

I don't think Francis was unfair. The fight was over very quickly, and Mortimer only grabbed the clothes and ran off to put them on somewhere else. Then four instead of the two you sent came running out to try and find him and failed.
Seems like he would have had enough time to do it to me.
