Rosby Castle is about a day and half's ride north of Kings Landing. It consists of a small town with a small, but well fortified castle on a rise overlooking the town. The castle is the seat of House Rosby.
A day's ride further north of Rosby is the Old Stone Bridge, a tall, timbered inn sitting astride a stone bridge over a river junction.

"Good to see someone against Horas for a change, I am Ser Patrek Redfort second in command of the King's Men, this is Ser Danwell Farring captain of the King's Men and this is Vardis Pryor a regular King's Men. We had one more but unfortunatly Velaryon has him as a prisoner to be sure of our good will so to speak," Patrek said his mouth twitching at the mention of Velaryon.

"I knew we should brand every member that signed up," Vardis mutters.
Ser Patrek frowns. "What exactly would you count as proof? We had to get rid of the King's Men marks in King's Landing or be catched by that usurping whore son. I could give you names of some of our fallen members, or you could send a raven to the Vale and ask for confirmation."

"Promise that all you say is true and swear your oath to the true Lord Regent, Benfry Smith. Then I will unchain you, but keep in mind that I will have to keep you lot under watch."

Karlon nodded to the guards to unchain them. "What are you doing in Rosby and where are you trying to get to? Away from King's Landing I imagine."

"We were heading for the Vale, unfortunatly just as we left King's Landing we were brought in by Velaryon's knights as they had orders to not let any travelers go by. He sent us here to Rosby with an escort after keeping Burt as a prisoner. No doubt he wanted Ser Rolland Storm to see if we were telling the truth of our loyalty to Blackwood," Patrek spat at the last name.

Karlon nodded. "I'll let you ride on to the Vale if that is where you wish to go. I am debating whether to ride for King's Landing or to wait for them to bring the battle to us."

"Thank you Barclay. You are safer behind the walls this close to King's Landing atleast. Velaryon had only a thousand left when he sent us to Rosby but who knows what kind of reinforcement he has gotten. I hope you have more luck than the King's Men have had recently, though it seemed to have gotten better at the moment," Patrek said.
////////// The King's Men rode on to the Vale, trying to avoid most of the main roads and armies on the horses Lord Velaryon so kindly had offered.

Danwell looked around the damage wrought by Barclay's forces in the assault. The stench of death, burnt flesh and horseshit was still heavy in the air. "Ah, war. You never forget the smell" he murmured as he mounted up, checking that his swordbelt against the saddlehorn was within reach.
He glanced around one more time before digging his heels in and riding off up the kingsroad with his fellows
