Is House Stark gone completely inactive? It seems that at least their Lord is presently gone, unless someone's replaced Syd...who's running that ship?

Shipwreck more like. Shame really as when I joined a while back, I was put off joining House Stark as the Lord seemed too young and the option was the older (non-inheritable) uncle or a very young cousin, so I chose Tyrell. Still non-inheritable but much more active

Heh, too true on the "shipwreck" comment.
We probably need Crake to write a scenario on the sitch (and on whether they follow Martell out the door). First, though; could any active Stark players post?

Given the general inactivity of House Stark I've decided to create a "plague" in the North that has incapacitated most of the Starks. I will now rule House Stark (and they will be neutral). If you are a Stark and come back to the game for some reason, I can allow you your character again but I would suggest starting a new character in one of the active families.

Too bad for our plans if the Starks will peacefully bend their knees instead of revolting. But I guess, we'll have to accept the situation.
