Captain Merik stopped leaning on his pike, and stood up a little straighter. "What part of kindly fuck the hell off are you misunderstanding? Lord Varner ain't receiving visitors." The man turned and glared at the Tyrell man, "and you ain't killing anybody here. Tell him he can give his message without getting himself killed."

"Well you ain't killing anyone in the Far Reach, or the Lord Regent will have you strung up for murder. So if you do kill him, wait till you get back to where ever your lord is at now." Captain Merik set his face in stone.

"The only one with a pike up his arse is gonna be you if you don't mind your fucking tongue." Captain Merik growled. "And the answer is still no. You can give the message to me and I can give it to Lord Varner, or you can leave. It's a simple enough choice for you. One the one hand, Lord Varner gets your message, and on the other hand he don't. Option three, stand here and bother me all day is at an end." Merik whistles, and three other men come stand behind the two soon to be ejected visitors.

Captain Merik takes both letters, and tucks them away calmly. He and the other guards than escort the two men out. When they've exited the Hightower, the guard's sword is returned.
(ooc: You can PM me the contents of the two letters.)

<Referring back to our prior conversation>
Roland nodded. "Yes, my Lord Varner, the sea may be faster than an overland route. I've never travelled any great distance by ship. Tell me, will there be room for the Valemen and their horses?"
