Seth rapped upon Francis' chamber door.
OOC: What a creepy summons, mate.

Francis opened the door and waved Lord Falgrave in.
"Lord Seth, what a pleasant surprise," he said, knowing full well he'd summoned the man. "I thought we my ruminate on the must recent developments, and see if we can't hatch a plan which will keep your lady bride and her family safe from bloody knives."

Seth strode in, his gold cloak absent. His face was hard, his eyes sunken, as if he had no been getting much sleep.
"Well that would be a blessing, Francis."

"Let us start with the Kevan Flowers aspect of the case. I presume that Lady Aerie knew Flowers in some platonic manner and that he was considered a family friend. I also presume that he was the agent of Piers who provided you with the information implicate Horas in this deed? Correct so far? I have interviewed the man who claimed to have provided the gift. A Prince Edrick, by name. Most likely unconnected to the present matter in any way, besides trying to claim a wedding gift which he did not bring. We know that elements of Lord Piers' spy network intend to eliminate the Blackwood family, and relevant others. The question is who is running that network, and how to call them off."

Seth nodded. "This is all true." He said, deep in thought, there were pieces that were still swimming about in his mind. Pieces he hoped to get answers to, and soon.
"I have been trying to keep my lead up on this as much as possible. It seems an inconvenient time for a child to be born to me. Especially when the mother is so unbecoming about her maternal half." Seth seemed aggravated. "She won't stop crying. The baby either. It is all I can do to stay cognizant."
Seth looked very tired, and aged.
"But the important thing is that the agents know about us. At least, if what I presume is correct. They knew you would attend my feast. And they knew how to send a message."

"They did indeed. I have learned that the chest by all appearances was constructed in the free city of Braavos, although upon whose request we may never know. We now have a number of very interesting elements in the mix. The Warlocks of Qarth, the Sealord, the Lord Hand and the agents of the Lord Regent. Someone clearly intends for this realm to tear itself to pieces. When I spoke with the Lord Hand, he suggested a group known as the Cult of the Dead God. Are you familiar with the term?"

"Very familiar." Seth said, finally taking a seat. He placed his cheek on a propped hand and continued.
"Once through an agent of an agent, and once through my own personal experience. Nearly killed me dragging the three of them back here."

"Tell me what you can of these two incidents." Francis said, simply.

"Well, one incident involved the now infamous Battle at the Wild Eye, or Mount Tette, I believe it is called." Seth cracked his knuckles subconsciously. "It also involved Lords Rhodri and Horas, Selwyn Stone and Aranya Royce. The warlocks were praying to a volcano. Much chaos ensued." He sighed. "Francis apparently came across someone he knew, and killed him. The man was a warlock and apparently threatening the life of a baby. It seems quite confusing."
He cleared his throat. "When Aerie and I went to Dorne, we killed an entire temple full of the bastards and their 'Deathguards'. Terrible creatures, those. We kept three alive to bring back to Piers. As far as I know, they are still rotting at the base of the Red Keep."

Francis nodded. It seemed everyone had more secrets than this master of whisperers. "I see. Let me tell you my theory than. It is my belief that this Cult of the Dead God infiltrated Lord Horas' spy network, and conducted the assassination attempt against Lord Piers. Having failed thus far to force us to act against the Lord Hand, they have now co-opted portions of Lord Piers spy network, to strike against House Blackwood, the goal being to push the Lord Hand and the power base of the Lord Regent against one another. When Kevan Flowers related some of this message, however small, to Aerie, he was killed for it, the body sent to us in the chest, in an effort to convince us that Braavos was also responsible for the attack. Speaking of Braavos, I can't help but notice that they helped reinforce the Dornish navy. And it just happens to be Dorne where these bastards were captured. At the same time, the attempt against Lady Benedicta Lannister may have been at their hand as well, to convince the Dornish Princess that she was also at risk ,and possibly in an attempt to push her into the arms of Braavos. Does that sound too far-fetched?" Francis asked seriously. Part of Francis' job was to take disparate information and form a narrative. But not all stories had a narrative foundation.

"We might make a great sleuthing team someday Francis." Seth mused.
"With my memory for details and your skills at piecing together information, it was no wonder we were chosen for this task." He seemed to be mocking their situation, as if it were a storybook pairing of great heroes. He had liked those during his squiring.
"That sounds quite probable, though I think it might be a coincidence that we captured them in Dorne. The cults have been sighted all over the realm, though it is worth it to keep it in our thoughts.

"That is the story I will take to the small council than." Francis said. "When should we present our case? I am wondering if it wouldn't be better to wait until Lord Horas returned to King's Landing. One the one hand, it will inflame passions, which might hurt us. And on the other hand, his and Warren Blackwood's votes might be needed if some member of the council pushes it to action. What say you?"

"You speak wisely to border caution, though every day that we are inactive is another day my wife and her family could be struck down. I would urge for immediacy." He shook his head. "Though, your idea has much more promise. Argh!" He said, slamming a fist against the arm of the chair. "Dammit! I wish I could fill those bastards with fletching!"

"Soon enough Lord Falgrave. If you would council immediacy, than we should act immediately. The sooner we can have the Realm of one mind, the safer your young wife and child will be. Would you have us go now?"
