OOC: Bah, Javelin was faster than Captain Snow.

OOC: Fair enough, horselord. Have you named your new horse, btw? "Only Rhodri could outrace me," Aranya amended with a grin. "But that was because his horse detested him and kept trying to gallop away from his rider."

Roland laughed suddenly, "Lord Rhodri, eh? Well, let's see how I can do with it!"
OOC: Roland about to get owned by a warged horse?

OOC: Well, the horse was fast before she learned to warg, but since the Smith hasn't officially hammered out Aranya's riding skill...
"Lord Rhodri," Aranya winked. "Let's race out on the headland. Ser Vance, you may enjoy the inns until we return. I can tell you some stories about their names." She wheeled her black around and put her heels to his sides, and cantered out towards the gates.

Ser Vance laughs and rides on into the city, wondering what trouble he can get into without Aranya finding out.

Roland, happy to be distracted, if only briefly, from the tragedy in the Arryn/Royce house, nods in salute to the Knight of Diamonds. He waves to Ser Daven and calls out, "See you in Duskendale, Daven!" He then spurred after Aranya.

OOC: Er, double post Roland .^_^
Once through the gates, the riders cantered to part of the headland. This close to the sea, the wind was strong, whipping the horses' manes into their riders' faces. The coursers raised their heads and sniffed the wind eagerly, pawing the rocky ground with impatience.
Aranya slipped skins into Captain Snow at the same moment as she touched her heels to the stallion's sides, and then the horses leaped down the plain, gaining speed quickly.

OOC: Lol, that was intended as a modification, not a quotation. Anyway, I'll fix it.

"You ride very well," Aranya said, as the two of them rode back. The horses were panting. "For a moment there, I thought you'd pass me."

Roland catches up after the finish and flashes a smile at Aranya, "That was great fun, Aranya! Your methods are unorthodox, and your skill... otherworldly...? In any case, it was not a matter of orthodoxy but that of speed and skill. Well done!"

"Your own skills will aid you well in the tournament, I think," Aranya said. She rode into the yard of Darklyn's Head, rubbed her courser's head and gave Snow's reins to a stableboy. "Come - the rest of the knights are in here. The children were sent on to the Dun Fort with the servants and guards, but I want to tarry in the town for a little while longer."

Roland dismounted, offered the reins, and then followed Aranya out into the city. OOC: Back to work.

Aranya's three remaining wolfhounds - she still bitterly regretted the deaths of the other two in the boarhunt - followed her into the inn. They were large, fawn-colored dogs, and Aranya planned to breed them with the hounds already at the Dun Fort.
She found her knights and let the wolfhounds make a path for her through the crowd of people, Roland following behind. They sat down with the others and ordered food, while Roland and Aranya told them about the race.
Aranya was watchful of the other guests at the inn.
