Orillion: The Mander were demanding the crown help them take back the Shields from us. The King's Hand basically started a bidding war between us and the Mander over who had the right to own the Shields. Qhored refused to pay a single cent and went back to Pyke to prepare for war. Tyberion then privately intervened and shelled out gold on our behalf so that we can keep the islands (our in game characters still do not know about this deal). The latest is the King has officially told Wulf that the Shields are for the IB to keep.
Qhored: can I go ahead and give Smallwood a "thinly veiled" proposal to pirate (on a large scale) at the mouth of the Mander with the crown receiving a cut? If he agrees to it great, if not then we can re-evaluate whether it's worth pissing the crown off over.

I don't think Smallwood would agree to it, and it might just piss him off. On the other hand if you want to raid without asking that's fine too. Just make sure you don't fly any flags and you cover your face so you can't be identified.
And obviously don't ask and then do it after he refuses, since it would be kind of obvious it was you.
Orillion, I've tagged you on Old Wyk. For the purposes of the conversation, let's say you know that Lord Rent has been sick for awhile.

Ok cool, but I asked for an event for Smith saying for Lord Rent to commit suicide.

Anyone have other ideas on how we can belittle our friends of the Mander then?

Ok cool, but I asked for an event for Smith saying for Lord Rent to commit suicide. Ah ok, well I was gonna have Rent pass Red Rain to you because he was too sick to wield it. That way you'd have the sword without the burdens of lordship. But if you'd prefer he just kill himself that's fine too.

Just to keep you guys updated, I was the one who sent the orders to Smith telling him the Shield captains are pirating at the mouth of the Mander and will continue to do so until further orders. Sounds like the Redwynes are looking into the matter though.

I say kill about a hundred Mandermen sailors take there bodies and a couple of captured ships and a couple of ours and make it look like they totally attacked like 3 of our ships. Then we go and totally rape old oak.
1. Capture a couple of Mander Warships 2. Take a couple of IB ships complete with bodies and combine it with the Mander ships. 3. Make it look like the Mander attacked a bunch of our ships and slaughtered the men. (might want to make it look like they tried to sell some prisoners into slaver, might get even more simpathy.) 4. Take Old Oak. how does that sound.

A few questions: How do we get the dead Ironborn? What do we do when they realise that the Mander men that are lying there dead belong to ships that had been failing to report and were (correctly) assumed captured? What do we gain from taking Old Oak?
