Bloodkin laughs loudly. "I'll take the boy for jester, then. But no man who wants us to fight the Stagking's foes will have my faith, not after the Baratheon cunt betrayed us at Riverrun. I stood with Balor on the walls of that castle and was called an outlaw by a poxy messenger."
"We fight for salt and rock, not stags and roses."

Harald Saltcliffe laughs at Bloodkin Codd. "As if anyone would listen to a Codd! Even greenlanders and thralls have more iron in their veins than the Codds. The lord must be a Kraken. That is the way things work."
Saltcliffe turns from Harral to Mortimer, apparently still not quite satisfied with either.

"The boy isn't even a Kraken just some misbegotten whelp of Balor's."

"We will fight, though not for purposeless causes. The Stag's enemies are oft-time our own. If you cannot realize that, you are as dense as Harral. Or as dense as Harlaw, who has never had an original thought in his life. I stand before you, and I ask, what needs need be met? What do you want of a leader? Do you want pure reavery? Pure idiocy? Pure carnal composure? Vote for Harral."
"Vote for Harlaw if you want, I am sure he will be a very enjoyable sort when he is asking everyone on the Islands what to do, at all hours of the day. Yes that bodes well for a leader. Easily manipulated. We are sure to be feared then."

For the first time, Harlon Sparr laughed. It was a harsh bark, scathing with contempt.
"One is a drunken, petty fool, the other is an arrogant, cockless, treacherous, lying fool. Greenlander or drunkard? Wineskin or chattering songbird?" Harlon's laugh turned to a snarl. "We stand by Codd. These are dark days indeed for the Iron Isles. We will have Harlaw. Harlaw!"

Codd snarls. "No man stands by me. All men despise me. Bah, let us end this. Greenlander, godless or greatness. This is no choice at all."

"Would you have me prove my prowess Sparr? A leader must be strong. Though I may be young, I am filled with iron and vigor and an indomitable spirit. Our enemies will quake at the coming of our fleets."

"You're filled with piss and arrogance and roses," Sparr spat. "You fill your head with empty glories, fool boy. I will have none of it."

"Let them fight," Saltcliffe says. "Words are wind. The Drowned God will choose his own champion!"

Mortimer scowls. "You are cowards. Afraid of a little wrinkle in your trousers. I am young and powerful, and most importantly, I am intelligent. That is what sets me apart from the other two. Yes the pick is yours, an intelligent man, a drunken sod, or an elderly puppet."

"I will fight my competitors, if that's what it will take, before the Drowned God, before the stars and earth itself. Once they have been surmounted you will see my standing victorious. Though it shan't be to the death. Iron Born kill others, not their own."

"You are no man your are just a weak little boy wanting something he can't handle, you have proven nothing in your ability to lead."
