The Bastard of Wick stands up, "Why the hell would we want to talk with the Greenlander's we are the Ironborn we reave we do not negotiate and what you suggest makes you less then any true Ironborn here."

"Yes, we reave. And to reave stupidly is to die stupidly. I have said it before and I will say it again. Throw your vote away, vote for Harral, vote for Harlaw, you are essentially getting the same thing: an incapable leader who mongers on war." Mortimer threw the bastard a look.

"Thats because we are a warrior people we are the Ironborn were born on the Iron Islands where only the strong survive. Everything I own I have paid the Iron price for. We are Ironborn and we are made of Iron not flowers and wine like you, you weak Singer."
OOC: I'm not taking Harral on this I'm just being your classic Ironborn.

"I keep hearing accusations of my weakness, yet none of you has tried yet to test me. I am a strong and capable leader. None shall be sorry."
OOC: Since Smith said we should end it hours ago, I think it's only fair to end on that note, considering Harral and Harlaw get no rebuttals.

"Codd is no coward," Sparr growled. "Aye, and Harlaw is a man I would trust. You do not need to be a kraken to sit the Seastone Chair, you witless fool. This is a lordsmoot, not a Greyjoymoot. See how little you know our customs? You don't belong here. You have never bothered to come here before, prefering to ride with the greenlanders and enjoy their gentle, weak lands. Then you suddenly turn up out of nowhere now that Balor's dead, and you accuse Harral Greyjoy with no proof, when it just as easily could have been you."

OOC: These ironborn must be huge gossipers- otherwise I have no clue how they'd know half of the things they do about Seth, and virtually anything about Mortimer.

Mortimer raised a finger to Sparr. "I have created quite a name for myself, and you have done nothing of note. Obviously, even while on the greenland I have done more than you could conceive of." Sparr's men growled angrily at this. "Harlon Sparr is the most successful and ruthless reaver on the Iron Islands," one of his men snarled back. "A noted captain and a true ironborn. Who the fuck are you? Your "name" comes from the fact that you're an outlaw and a singer." The man spat derisively.

I already said in the beginning that Harlon Sparr is an excellent reaver and has raided near the Saltpans. He's heard talk about what goes on in King's Landing, because he's not stupid about keeping his ears open. And honestly, Seth and Mortimer have been high profile enough for any reaver in the King's Landing area/Blackwater Bay to have heard of what they did. Seth also came north, and ironborn raiding along that coast would have heard of something as strange as a kraken riding with a random greenlander army.

A ragged, one-eyed, old man near the back coughed loud and raspingly several times as people started to quiet.
When he spoke, his voice sounded like rocks scratching against each other. "It seems we have three choices."
"A godless, drunken fool who says we reave. We reave, reave what? He doesn't say." He spat, his eye looking at Harral Greyjoy
Then he pointed at Lord Harlaw "Our great military genius, who says we reave the strength of the seven kingdom." The old man coughed again, or was it a laugh. "Even he knows that's not possible, he promises more than he will give."
"And the bastard. Greenlander, singer, weakling. He speaks of working with the stagking, reaving the enemies of the seven kingdoms! What Ironborn would agree to that? What Ironborn, except for Balor Greyjoy himself!?" The old man roars. "The Iron Islands have grown strong under Balor! We Ironborn are strong, we are proud, but we are not foolish! The Braavosi are an enemy worthy of our strength, and they will never strike back while we use the Seven Kingdoms as our barrier! Nothing to be lost and all to be gained! If you are more than just a fool who cannot see beyond what Harlaw would promise us, then you know the only true heir of Balor, the only true leader of the Ironborn is the bastard boy of Balor!"

Tall Sparr men pushed the ragged old man out of the way, Sparr looking disgusted. "None of the sons of Balor have inherited Balor's blood. Urri is a craven child, and Sebastian was addled in the head. Mortimer is..." Sparr spat in disgust. "Harral is an ironborn, but Harlaw is an ironborn leader."

Most amusing. I'm having to bite my lip to not join in

"Hang on," said one of Sparr's men loudly. "I don't believe that."
"And I don't believe Harral Greyjoy killed Balor either," said another.
"Give us proof!"
Sparr stood silently.

OOC: I don't think the Ironborn captains should really know about Mortimer's arrest in KL and all that soap opera. Can't imagine that word spreading. I do think they'd know that Seth Greyjoy has been gifted lands in the Reach and look down on that.

ooc: I agree. Mortimer should be a virtual unknown to most of the captains. Which is both good and bad
