Stay bloody calm, Aranya told herself sternly.
"The whole point of this meeting is to ensure that the Night's Watch will not be divided against itself any longer. Your Lord Commander is lost beyond the Wall with almost all of the Watch's strength, and yet you still want to destroy yourselves further with this feud. If the men of the Shadow Tower attack Eastwatch's men, then there will be nobody left on the Wall but Mudd's stewards and builders. Nobody! Your duty is to maintain peace and order, and to be united against the realm's foes. Stop this madness."

"Lord Wull, if you were to slay Lord Bracken, the realm would have one less brother to guard it. The same if Lord Bracken slew Lord Wull. The Brothers of the Night's Watch need you both, more now than ever, with Lord Wendwater lost. A duel will only bleed the strength out of your order," Selwyn says.

"You two are behaving like children. What do we have to do threaten to take away your dinners and send you to bed." Mudd looked at the two men and continued, "What must we do for peace. What do the two of you seek?"
Bracken laughed, "Yes Mudd send me to bed, I want justice. I want Lord Wull's head."
Wull sneered, "Come take it boy. It is right here."

Fucking... Aranya finally rose to her feet and slammed her Valyrian dagger into the table.
"Both Lord Wull and Lord Bracken are under my protection, starting right now. If any man here tries to kill his sworn brother, he will have me to deal with. I promise you, my lords, that will not be a good thing."

Bracken looked at Selwyn and Aranya, "If there is now duel then I want justice, there can be Justice."
Wull laughed at Bracken, "No one can judge me, but the Lord Commander or one of the council. Do you plan on asking Mudd over there to rule on me." He snickered.

"Justice," Aranya said coldly. "Justice, is it? What justice can I give you, when I don't have evidence of anything?"

Bracken's devil smile turned to Aranya, "There is always the God's justice."
Mudd leaned forward in his seat, "Jamie if you ask me for justice, you will be submitting yourself to my command. So far you have never answered one of my commands. So why would I think you would now. There is no justice for oath-breakers."

"There is God's justice and then there's my justice," Aranya said. "My justice says that if you lay a finger on Lord Wull, I'll kill you. And the same goes for Lord Wull should he touch you.
"There is too much at stake for you two to go on beating a dead horse, so to speak." She ran a hand through her hair. "All right - listen to me. Lord Bracken may give one of his men to Lord Wull as a hostage, and Lord Wull may do likewise. That should buy a truce - however uneasy."

Looking at Aranya, Jamie licked his lips, "You speak awfully fierce for a women, yet I believe you." His eyes rolled back to Wull, "Alright there is no way either of use is going to want the other out of our sight, so I say we let Mudd, and..." Pausing for a second, he looked to Mudd, "Is Lord Foote still your top ranger?" When Mudd nodded he looks back to Wull, "Foote to each take our commands. And we both take over Castle Black. How bout that Wull?"

"I have no problem with that," Aranya said, and she looked at Wull. Her hand was still on the dagger.

Wull considered that for several moments, "I will agree as long as we keep the forces we brought with us." He eyes the others in the room, "...and the King's knights stay here, at Castle Black."
Mudd stands up smiling, he claps once, "Damn its refreshing to hear you some sense from you. This is a good arangement."
Bracken laughs, "Keep your men Wool," he sneers, "I don't need mine, I will send them back with you Mudd."

Aranya was relieved, but she glanced at Selwyn about the knights. They were the King's knights and a few of them were Duskendale knights, and Selwyn was the one with the authority over them.

"If any of the knights we rode here with choose to take the Black, they are welcome to. The rest, however, will remain here to reinforce the safety of the Wall against the dark night and winter," Selwyn says. "And remember, a man who swears his vows is absolved of his crimes, but any new crimes are still answerable to the King. Murder will beget execution by the King's Justice. That you find your peace between you, for the good of the realm, is all I implore, but Callen King may have a sterner view when he hears of the chaos here. It is his realm you defend, and he will have you together as one."

"I must ask one more thing," Aranya looked at Lord Bracken. "Earlier you were talking about dead black brothers walking beyond the Wall. I need you to explain this." Excitement was building in her again. Her hand itched for the dragonglass sword.

Bracken's head jerks, "Callen King? Well fuck me." His devilish smile turns to the Southurners. "You will tell me how that happened." Shaking his head, "If he had just won the first time I would not be in this situation."
Eyeing Aranya intently, Jamie asks "Do you have time to fill me in on the news from the south?"
Rolling his eyes Mudd excuses himself to get Lord Foote, and depart Castle Black.
