It had been days in which Willem worked tirelessly scrubbing floors and dishes. Today he was carrying chamberpots out to dump in the waters around the city. He noticed one poor man with a determined look on his face walk in. His eyes were sad, Willem wished he could force the man to smile but knew he would not be allowed to.
