Okay. This is more than a fight here, as it includes a lot of subterfuge.
First place I can intervene, of course, is when Horas tries to duck out without warning and without alerting Emelia's razor-sharp Insight. Honestly? I don't think he has a skill that's particularly suited for actually carrying out this fake without Emelia (Grandmaster Insight) catching him at it and acting before Horas -or- the guard. (Intrigue doesn't seem like something made for not telegraphing a physical move.)
Smith?

Horas has grandmaster intrigue. Furthermore he is looking off in to space towards the door, denying Emelia of any facial clues. All the more I have to say about the insight is that you didn't seem to pick up on the fact that anything was wrong before now, and it has been planned since the first visit Horas payed Emelia.
As to the actual fight, the participants are:
Ser Brandon Rivers (previously rated at expert swordsmanship) and four other guards handpicked for this.
8 more of Horas' guards in the hallway, and many many more House Grafton guards beyond that.

I'm still calling you on the "without warning in stance or voice." Particularly the stance part. And Emelia's not an utter mind-reader (she can't see past a Faceless Man), but the actual dodge out, and the guard planted conspicuously at the door...
This is where Emelia's hackles get to raise if Horas telegraphs things, and I'd imagine based on comparative combat skills that Emelia's probably a bit faster than Horas physically.

Emelia:
Horas:
The guards not in the room are specifically noted to remain out of sight. If a man stands near the wall next to a door, a person in the room would not be able to see him. Not without x-ray vision.
Emelia:
Then Smith has the final say. But Horas has always been a man who shows his thoughts and emotions very minimally. He strives for it.
The two are of comparable age. Neither is out of shape but neither engages in excessive exercise either. Going by physical skills, Emelia has noteworthy throwing needles, Horas has beginner daggerwork and beginner riding. Horas is also aware of what will happen and ready to move; Emelia is not.

Right. As Emelia has grandmaster insight, she can -perceive- minimally-shown stuff. Which is why it goes to rolls.
Also, the guard? Depends on whether the doors open inward or outward; as this is a -guest room- door, it probably opens inward. So you can't close that kind of door from the outside. I'll retract it if it works the other way, but...

It's a prison cell for nobles. It's nice and fancy, but a prison all the same, with the same precautions in place.
EDIT: Now that I think about your statement more I'm not sure it makes sense. Even if it opened inwards a guard could step from next to it on the outside and close it long before Emelia could get to it.

Possibly, but it's a split-second gap. Either way, marginal relevance if her roll beats Horas'.
EDIT: Also, usually, prison cells for nobles don't have that kind of precaution, because they aren't designed -against- a serious escape attempt. Those Of Noble Birth Don't Try To Escape (inaccurate stereotype? Maybe, but that doesn't mean it isn't there; she's expected to wait to be ransomed). So I'm not sure that a common Vale castle would be designed for prison security. Smith's call again.

I have to mention the fact that does it matter if Emelia uses her Insight to read Horas' face. She is surround by his men. Even if she goes to escape there are 5 men around her. She would be grabbed no matter what.

Tallahar, if Emelia's fast enough...you'll see.
This may be Emelia Martell's last stand; I'd be negligent in playing her if I didn't pull out at least two conventional stunts and one magical trick to get out of it, hopeless or no.

She stabs away with her daggers or needles stuff.
Still plenty of men to kill her so she dies in the end.

Well, if the roles were reversed would Emelia be able to pull this off on Horas?
Also, Emelia has no speed skill, nor any skill to imply she's fast.

There seem to be more and more "character on character" killings recently - where's the love? ;D

There seem to be more and more "character on character" killings recently - where's the love? ;D I ate it. .. The only thing that would determine whether or not the door swings inward or outward would be it's purpose. If it has always been a "Noble's Cell", then you better believe it swings outward. If it was once a "Guest Room", then it would swing inwards.
