The bracket:

Sargon Greyjoy vs. Quellon Drumm
Uler Dengerr vs. Theon Godswind
Storm-Reaver Crew 1 vs. Hardon Kenning
Storm-Reaver Crew 2 vs. Seth Falgrave
Storm-Reaver Crew 3 vs. Storm-Reaver Crew 4 (Winner gets a bye next round)
For the first round, there will be one axe used in each match. For the second, both competitors will start with one. For the third and fourth rounds, each dancer will start with two.

Hardon Kenning is noteworthy with axes, if it affects this at all.

Oh yeah, should probably mention your stats in here.
Erik is a master of the axe and a beginner in finger dancing. (Both upped in Cold Iron is forged)
Harrin really doesn't have any applicable skills.

Heh, having a finger dancing skill strikes me as odd, since presumably Erik has done finger dancing all his life and would not be classed as a beginner. Perhaps Finger Dancing should be treated the same as jousting was, it's equal to your highest weapon skill, as long as you're an Ironborn or someone who would likely be skilled at it.

I kind of like that idea.

In that case, Euron would be about noteworthy in it.

Seth would merely be noteworthy than, probably. Unless it's similar to archery, then he would be close to Grandmaster.

Ah yea, Seth's situation is tricky. I dont think he would be noteworthy, since noteworthy is the skill rating Euron, Hardon and Theon would probably get, having done it their whole lives. Though I don't know how old Seth was when he was forced to leave the islands, so maybe he did it a lot before then.

Seth was young, too young to have played more than lightly, but he learns fast and has seen it performed on numerous occasions. Maybe novice then? I dunno.

I'm happy for Seth to start at Novice and then increase quickly, like say go up to Apprentice after this contest. Perhaps the skills should be officially split so that scenarios can be used to advance them. I'd start a new thread about in the General forum, but I figure everybody who would actually care about such a decision will be reading this thread.
ETA: Also, I don't think Quellon Drumm should get Grandmaster Finger Dancing, as being excellent with a weapon isn't good enough reason to be excellent at the game, keeping the two skills equal in other cases just makes things simple. He could be like expert or something.

This is true.

On the other hand, we're probably overthinking this whole thing, it's just throwing an axe and catching it, might be best just to not bother with a skill bonus and have everyone be equal.

Hmm, well maybe like three tiers to it. FOr some who are versed in it, some who have done it tons, and some who have little to no experience.

Okay, rules for Finger Dancing:
One roll, winner of roll moves on to next round (even if win is only one point). If loser loses by 90-100 points, he loses one or more fingers. If loser looses by more than 100 points, he loses his dominant hand.
Will do this after the joust is wrapped up.
