The two fighters charged forward. Alexander swung with both axes in a fierce pincer movement. Erik blocked one with his shield and ducked the other. Still crouched, he hammered a painful blow into Alexander's abdomen, winding the fighter.

Pressing his advantage, Erik forced his opponent back across the yard and struck him hard on the left leg.

Alexander managed to regain some composure and defend against a further assault from Lord Coldiron but even he knows it is only a delaying action

Sure enough, Erik moves quickly round his rival who cannot turn quick enough to follow and he knocks Alexander to the ground.
