Oh, guess Lucian will start slowly working himself off my NPC list. ^_^

Okay, now maybe I don't understand how this game is played, but I have a clearly documented interaction with Robert Slynt, commander of the city watch of King's Landing.
Now I see that another player is claiming that Jon Royce is commander of the city watch. This is inconsistent with my previous action.
How do we resolve this? I'd rather not get into a "Bang, you're dead!" "No I'm not, you're dead!" sort of argument.

Robert Slynt was LC of the Gold Cloaks when you spoke with him. Since then -- in a Small Council meeting, which was in a protected forum -- Slynt was fired and Jon Royce was promoted. It wasn't even my idea -- Callen decided on it, and Royce protested slightly before agreeing.
Royce came up to talk to Seaworth, and I was planning on explaining in the conversation the change in leadership.

I must say that it seems extremely unjust to fire one of my NPCs from a position without cause and install someone else's NPC, without any kind of chance to defend against this move.
This seems like it should at least require a scenario, an opposed intrigue, or political manipulation of some sort.

Well, if the king tells his commander of the goldcloaks he's fired, the man doesn't really have too much of a choice. That's not to say he couldn't seek an audience with the King to beg him to reconsider, or that the Goldcloaks couldn't get angry that their leader was sacked and an outsider was placed above them, though.
Since it's likely common knowledge in King's Landing by now, I'll say this. Slynt wasn't sacked because of corruption or anything to do with your character. The official reason was the increase of murders in King's Landing, and the king deemed Slynt wasn't doing a good enough job keeping the peace. It should also be noted that Jon Royce as commander is only a temporary measure.

Ya, when peace is finally restored, Slynt can have his job back. And officially he's still a Commander of the Gold cloaks, probably second in command to Jon. Jon just took temporary command.

It's pretty customary when a new power is established, they clear the decks and install people they know are loyal to them. That's what I presumed Callen was doing. I don't think it was a move intended to undercut you.

I have a quick question. Why is Arguel's last name Flowers when bastards from King's Landing are given the name Waters?

I presume he was born in the Reach?
ETA: They were established in the original description for the first market square thread by Crake as fruit sellers with deep ties to the Reach.

Hmm, but I remember something saying he was born in King's Landing.
EDIT: Nevermind, just read the marketplace thread.

Oh, and if you're looking to manipulate the LC of the Gold Cloaks, Jon, even in the role temporarily, is quite easy to influence. Intrigue isn't really his bag.

What's the state of King's Landing's harbor, incidentally. Can you still land a ship or three there?

Yes they have started to rebuild, plus you could have anchored off shore and unload with small boats.
