Many of the boats that crossed the Blackwater Bay were burned with fire arrows from the high walls of King's Landing but the continued onrush of ships did not stop for a long time. The soldiers that Aedon led scaled giant siege ladders up the walls of King's Landing. Many fell and crushed bones of their body, and many more fell and crushed their skulls. The dragon and Aedon were ferocious, engulfing many of the defenders in flames. This was the beginning of the battle in King's Landing, and already it was a gruesome start.
Casualties from the Siege/Assault thus far: Aedon's forces- 1420 killed Dondarrion's forces- 1540 killed Townsfolk- 1700 killed

The next part of the battle was bloodier than the first. It took hours for the assailants to mount the wall, but it was finally done as Lord Blackwood and the Songlord brought reinforcements to both sides of the battle. Lord Powel Byrch is killed on the walls of King's Landing by Ser Andon Gaunt and Lord Taylor Buckwell takes a side wound from Ser "Black" Ben Tollett. Lord Maureth Estermont is burned by dragonfire as a contingent of his is almost completely engulfed in fire. Arrows are sent in hundreds at Aelerion, who shrugs off most of the dozens that hit.
Casualties from the Siege/Assault thus far: Aedon's forces- 2180 killed Dondarrion's forces- 2390 killed Townsfolk- 3940 killed

OOC: Crake, just so you know, the archers are using metal crossbow bolts that can penetrate dragon scale at close range, and each bolt has been soaked in poison.
And dude, the smallfolk are being slaughtered. My inner Florence Nightingale can't take it.

ooc: the closest 'close range' you're going to get for an airborne target is about 100 feet though, let's be realistic. It's a 100-1 chance of doing major damage to that armour plated monster.
Not impossible though, think Smaug from the Hobbit and you're in with a chance. You just need someone with near legendary bow skill. Where's Lord Yew when you need him?

OOC: I have to preface this by saying that around an hour ago I lost power when I was almost done writing this. It was really quite frustrating. I just regained power and started up firefox and it was able to save/restore my session, which means I've still got everything I wrote. Wow, I am happily surprised by that.
The walls became useless after a while, and with both Blackwood and Caron bringing reinforcements, Dondarrion and Aedon were almost sidelined in importance by the showdown between the two legendary generals. The two armies sent waves upon waves against each other, bleeding themselves and their enemies to the point that the Market Square was full with half an inch of blood.
On ordinary days the streets would be crowded with townfolk. The same was true today, but now they were laying dead in the streets. Aedon had given orders to take no prisoners, and his fantasy of blood and power had no limitations, everything belonged to him...or nothing. His troops dared not disobey-- though some did-- or else they were to be killed alongside the townsfolk.
The soldiers were ruthless, on all sides of the battle, and confusion roared above the screamed watchwords of the day. As the day went on, Lord Caron's armies started to gain more ground in the city, despite Aedon's strong control of the walls. Blackwood brought part of his army around to flank those from the Songlord's host who had not already entered the city.
Now the city was completely surrounded by the dragon's forces and the inside was dominated by the dragon. Fires struck up all over the city as Aedon and the dragon turned from burning people to burning buildings with people inside them. There was no clear outcome besides death beyond belief.
Casualties from the Siege/Assault thus far: Aedon's forces- 3880 killed Dondarrion's forces- 3790 killed Townsfolk- 5490 killed

The madness and confusion in the final part of the battle was thick and long-lasting. The battle itself lasted for days even, and the bloodiest were still to come. The final days of the battle witnessed the burning-- the sacking of King's Landing. And sacking put it nicely. Houses, inns, shops and markets were burned to the ground. Fire was spread by torch and the dying dragon, that burned down as much as it could before in an attempt to burn the High Sept-- it lost energy, fell and died.
The Bloody King's troops showed no mercy and the Songlord and Dondarrion weren't prepared for such vicious warfare.
The Songlord's host seemed to overpower Blackwood's, and the Songlord when pitted against each other in single combat Sylas knocked Terrence unconscious with the blunt of his blade. Lord Blackwood was captured. Still with this capture, Blackwood's men rushed onwards, inspired by his legendary skill. A fierce battle between the two hosts left.
Word had reached townsfolk that healing bands arrived, and they were quickly crowded with the endless wounded and dying of King's Landing.
Several fires started to join together and burn around the city, the remnants of both armies fought in what parts of the city were left intact, though shortly most buildings in sight were on fire. The Red Keep and Maegor's Holdfast were stormed by several hundred of the Bloody King's troops. A hundred of Dondarrion's men stood tall against the assaulters. Lord Nathan Swann was one of the first defenders to die in the Red Keep, along with Lord Immanuel Morrigen. Lord Osimand Tarth was knocked unconcious by a mace, protecting the attackers from entering the throne room.
The throne room: defended by Dondarrion, Kit Kidwell, Ser "Black" Ben Tollett, Ser Andon Gaunt and two dozen other knights. They were attacked by at least three scores of knights and put up perhaps the greatest stand in the last hundred years. The Bloody King himself, Aedon Targaryen, ran into the room swinging heavy blows against his enemies. As Ser Nyles Crane, the legendary swordsman enterred the throne room, he felt an awkward sensation. He was three times a Kingsguardsman, and now he was given the task to kill Dondarrion.
Dondarrion stood on the seat of the Iron Throne yelling warcries, as he jumped from it he cut down two men nearby. Kit Kidwell was on the other side of the throne room, where he slew Lord Taylor Buckwell, wounded Lord Dustin Rosby (who was later killed by Ser 'Black' Ben Tollett), and killed a dozen other knights. Dondarrion was a ferocious fighter, and with a longsword and shield he proved he was a master with the sword. He saw as Ser Nyles Crane approached Dondarrion, sword readied. The two fought together, circling each other and exchanging blows for a great long time. Dondarrion took Crane's sword in his lower torso, and felt death before him. He looked at Crane with eyes unblinking and with one hand stabbed Crane through the neck.
The throne room became relatively uncrowded as a dozen of Dondarrion's men faced off against a score and a half of Targaryen's men. Fighting occured between soldiers for another long while, as Aedon made his way towards Dondarrion, who fought beside the Iron Throne. Aedon, tall and slim, rushed to him to engage him in single combat. Dondarrion fought with every muscle of his body, but could not muster enough strength and as Aedon's blow finally brought him to his knees...Dondarrion cried out for Westeros. On his knees he felt Aedon's sharpened steel enter and leave his chest several times, as he gasped.
Ser Kit Kidwell turned to see Dondarrion breath his last and tears began to swell, he roared out in a thunderous voice previously unbeknownst to him. He slew Lord Oliver Chyttering in a rush just to reach Dondarrion. Aedon saw Kid Death running towards him and finding a warhammer nearby drew it up and in a quick strike knocked Heartsbane from Kid Death's hands, as the two entered single combat. Ser Kit was not phased, and with swift vigor he grabbed Aedon and lifting him into the air, he threw the Bloody King onto the blades of the Iron Throne. The Bloody King died on the Iron Throne.
Kit then addressed the rest of the throne room, which was even less crowded then before. "LEAVE NOW, LEAVE NOW AND LIVE". A few Targaryen men left, leaving a dozen behind. In his wailing rage for his close friend, Kidwell cut down every last man who stood before him. Himself bleeding, Kidwell collapsed. Only a handful of Dondarrion's men were still standing and they quickly went to the aid of those who were laying wounded.
An hour later the Songlord and a score of Storm Knights entered the room and carried Kid Death and the other wounded knights to healers.
The battle was over, but as Lord Sylas Caron looked over the city he could not see any building that wasn't burnt to ashes or still on fire. Not even a fifth of the soldiers who fought in the battle survived. He spun around completely, but it failed to change anything. He almost collapsed, tears rolling down his face. All he saw were dead bodies, fire and ashes.
Results: King's Landing is burnt to the ground Lord Terrence Blackwood is captured Aelerion the dragon, dies Lord Nathan Swann is killed Lord Taylor Buckwell is killed Lord Immanuel Morrigen is killed Lord Dustin Rosby is killed Lord Osimand Tarth is wounded Ser Nyles Crane is killed Michael Dondarrion the Lightning King, is killed Aedon Targaryen the Bloody King, is killed Ser Kit Kidwell is wounded Aedon's forces- 5870 killed Dondarrion's forces- 6850 killed Townsfolk- 10,490 killed

Wow, that sucks. Poor Terrence, he had to go and get himself captured. That can't be good.
