"Thats strange isn't it boy. You followers of the Old Gods talk about the man who passes the judgment should inflict the punishment so I did."

While still looking at the castle Roose said, "Then delegate the judgement to your lordlings as well. If I were personally in charge of every single judgement in the north I would never see Winterfell."

Alyn Corbray stood staring up at the gigantic walls of Harrenhal, and the huge, crumbled towers that loomed high into the heavens.
His cousin, Ser Hellman, approached from beside him. Since Ser Koren's death, Alyn had been relying more heavily on his cousin, but it was not the same at all. Before, at Harroway's Town and King's Landing, he had been thrust into command, and all that had happened had threatened to overwhelm him, but he had known that Ser Koren was there, that old faithful knight who had been a father to him, and that alone had been enough to give him strength to continue, to be the leader he needed to be. Now he had no one to confide in, to consult with, he was alone.
"The men are getting restless," Hellman said, "there's no word of a parlay even yet. Can't be too hard to go over and talk to them Ironborn. I can even imagine how it would go, that bloody flower Tyrell lord, pinching his nose to ward off the stink of them reavers, would start it off by saying something brash and unecessary, the Ironborn would get all reared up, the wolf pup'd yelp ineffectually and Lord Roland'd stand there looking displeased."
Alyn sighed and silently wished he had Ser Keron back.

"No sense in waiting for them to come to us." Roose said, nudging his horse into a walk. "Raise it higher Ned." The young standard bearer nodded, struggling to lift the banner ever more higher.

"Cousin Roland would scowl indeed. He's not one to suffer fools, well maybe if that was their profession. The parlay should begin soon and as the Ironborn at Riverrun allready surrendered these ones could go home bragging about that they held out the longest," Brandon said as he neared the Corbray men.

Alyn shot Hellman a sharp look, before turning to Brandon. "Master Brandon, how do you fare today? Please forgive my cousin, he intended no offence. We know Lord Roland to be a great man."
"You may have a point about the Ironborn, though these ones have crowned a different king to those. These are not Erik Pyke's men, and as such are only likely to celebrate his capture, not capitulate do to it."

Brandon waved of the appology lightly, "No offence taken, lord Corbray".
"Well, given that the Ironborn have no hope of holding such a large castle, they would likely capitulate. They can't let their "enemy" Ironborn get in control of their islands after all".

Roose, Roland and Tallahar, as well as their retinues waited close enough to the castle for the Ironborn to see their peace banner, but not so close as to be shot at.

A single man came striding out. He was drinking from a wooden flagon, and stumbled at bit as he walked. He was singing a tune about the raping of a lass with flowers in her hair who turned out to be a Rose Knight.

"You may be right, Brandon, but this is Harrenal, this mighty castle stands as testiment to all the Ironborn once had. Perhaps, even knowing they will lose, they will want the chance to fight and die defending it in battle, the chance Aegon the Dragon never gave them."

Roose rolled his eyes. An Ironborn is never drunk as long as - He can hold onto one blade of grass and not - Fall off the face of the earth. He had heard that beyond the Wall.
Caustiously he loosened Ice in its saddle scabbard.

"Lets just take the castle already. If they can talk to us I don't see how they will be able to fight against us."

The Ironborn looked at the Lordlings and said, "What?" rather grumpily.

"One drunk Ironborn doesn't equal a garrison of drunk Ironborn Lord Tyrell." Roose said, sighing he rode up the the man, "How prepared are you to surrender." He said, doubting that he would get a straight answer.
