Ser Haviland Ashby, who has ridden as Aerie's and Bracken escort with his 20 men, looks about and hopes against hope that Aranya and Selwyn also made it here. But he does not see them.

Tired of being ignored, Tommen Redfort spoke, "Several hundred raiders have ridden forth into the Vale, in bands of twenty, raping and pillaging and plundering. My men killed at least two bands that were roaming the Shett and Redfort lands.
"But there must be many such bands by now. They are all northmen. The death toll of our people has swollen into the thousands."

"Several thousand are dead," Tommen repeated to the Hand. "And several hundred northmen are loose. We can't be certain exactly how many hundred."

"What in the hells...what is being done? Where is Lord Grafton? And what does Stark have to say for himself?" Rhodri asks Tommen.

"Before we left we had word that Lord Grafton's army was just emerging from the mountain passes. Once they ride through the Vale, those bands of raiders will be done for. And as for Stark...it's not his name the raiders shouting." Tommen looked grave.

"They scream 'Sands' the most," Tommen was watching Lord Rhodri carefully. "They burn and pillage, screaming, 'In the name of the First Ranger! Victory to Sands!' But there's another name they say. 'The King in the North! All bend to Wull, King in the North!'"
"Harry Belmore and I captured and and tortured three raiders until they admitted everything. Lord Wull, one of the Acting Commander of the Night's Watch, has rebelled and named himself King in the North. Several northlords have gone over to him. The Boltons are being killed, and the Dreadfort is besieged."

"To be more precise, this Wull tortured Lady Bolton and her children to death. That was what made a lot of other Houses fall in with him. He took hostages to get others over to his side."
Tommen paused and waited for the Hand to speak. He still had more information to give. Harry Belmore had been creative with the hostage raiders.
King Lancel Wull, It made Tommen sick. Was there no honor left in the world? He could imagine what his brother Garrett would have done in this situation.

Ser Haviland Ashby then spoke up. "My lord Hand, what Lord Tommen says is true. Lady Aranya, Lady Aerie and Lord Bracken can all add to his tale. My lady is not here, but Lady Aerie can speak her part for her."
Ser Haviland saw that all the lords were watching. Tyrell, Greyjoy, Lannister, the Martell princess, the King. It was well that they were all here to decide what to do against this threat.

Lord Tommen barely glanced at the Duskendale knight. "If Sands is in the Vale, he's doing a damned good job of hiding from us. We can't find him anywhere, we don't know if he's in our lands or if he sailed back with the north fleet and our captured ships. As for the North, this Lancel Wull already has Winterfell," Tommen glanced at Benjen Stark, almost accusingly.
"He has Winterfell, Moat Cailin and White Harbor. And as for Lord Commander Wendwater - Sands the First Ranger killed him."

Aerie allowed the men to bicker for a while, and, when the flow of words died with Lord Tommen, she deigned to speak. “Well, it’s true,” she said languidly, “according to the Night Watch, unless the men who tried to kill us were the result of three overactive imaginations. Lady Aranya and Lord Selywn rode to the Vale’s aid and we came to carry word.”

Ser Erik upon hearing this news turns and slips away behind everyone to run back to the Chambers of Lordly guests.
