Aerie smiled complacently as he returned to his seat, but her eyes frowned when they considered his words. Ser Yarrick was not going to be an easy one to undermine, and she did not think a lifetime of Ser Krag’s cajoling would budge him an inch. The only way seemed to be to catch him off guard with warped words and subtle guile, and she was growing weary of attempting to employ that when she wanted to be elsewhere. She thought wistfully of a warm bed and sleep, but she needed to discuss the things that had just transpired with Ser Krags so they could reason out what they meant. She thought dourly upon Callen Baratheon and how drastically her aim had changed. She realized she did not want him on the throne, not any more than she wanted Aedon on it. Doesn’t Maerys have children? If they live, why not them? She also pondered upon her deviation from her inborn loyalties. Straight from the Lion’s mouth, he said. Why should I betray my family for the Lannisters? I am a raven, not the pet of a lioness. The conflicting emotions roiled angrily within, causing her to forsake the food and drink she had barely touched and gaze forlornly to the door.

"Oh, Aerie, it is so wonderful to have you here. After supper we should repair to my chambers so you can try on some dresses. There are many I no longer fit, and since I have no daughter, I have no one to give them too. You can be like my daughter here," Lady Fenra bubbles.

OoC: Great, my house rose for a psycho kinslayer for king I might as well kill myself now. “That will be quite enjoyable. I…love…dresses…” Aerie smiled weakly at the gushing woman and nodded with what she hoped would pass as tempered enthusiasm. I already have one mother who thinks I’m a doll, woman, and I certainly don’t need another. She could not help it. Panic began to rise in her stomach like a flock of agitated ravens, causing her to shift in her chair uncomfortably. Jast was right. Her father would declare for Aedon, and she would have to betray her house and kin to escape their decision. I do not want to betray my house, but I do not want to be ruled by a murderer. But it is my house, my family. I cannot turn my back on them…Not on Warren, never on Warren. I cannot, yet I must. Must I? Must I? She did not know what to think, and the dread threatened to consume her. "Actually, I don't think I can eat another bite." It was true; her stomach felt like a sea of knots and tangles. She looked to Ser Krags to see if he was done wolfing down his meat. I should speak with Alyssa and the Potters as well..

Krags was finished with his third helping and was licking his fingers clean. Seeing Aerie had also finished, "Milady are you finished? Would you like to retire?" Standing he helped Aerie up. Falling in behind her he followed to where she would lead.

Aerie almost fell over in her relief, allowing herself to be helped from her seat. “Perhaps we can do the dresses another time,” she grated in what she hoped was regret, before striding out of the hall. She walked to her chambers, peering to both sides to ensure no one was in the vicinity, and beckoned him inside. They would not be bothered here. I should bring everybody else here as well. They need to know what is occurring, she reflected worriedly, but shunted the thought aside and turned to the knight. “Did you catch what happened?” she queried, frowning. “It could mean everything, or nothing at all. They are attempting to hide something from us, to be sure, and I have my suspicions on what exactly it is.”

"I do too." Krags nodded, "but it is not like we are unbiased. It could be old man fell down the stairs drunk. Or a whore broke his leg. There are lots of reason they would lie."
Nodding Krags spoke quickly again, "You are right though it merits more investigation. What do you think, Fenra or Yerrick? Which would break first?"

"If it was a whore, I don't think he'd wet his breeches at the mention of Lord Valwert meeting a stag," Aerie noted dryly, twirling the dark ring upon her finger, "but we cannot be certain. Fenra will break first, unless you put a knife through your heart after an hour of her prattle. I don't think Ser Yarrick would crack if you bashed all the stones of the Vale against his head. Do you want to speak to her then? Did she try to marry you off to someone as well?" she added humorously. "Perhaps her younger cousin who happens to be uncanny at needlepoint?"

Turning to looks Aerie straight in the eye, "No marriage for lowly Ser Krags. She wanted to bed me."
Raising an eyebrow he asked, "Do you think that will aid us a great deal?"

Aerie snorted derisively, pausing and turning her ring slowly in the other direction. “The old hag,” she muttered in distaste. “I don’t doubt she seduces her servants to keep her company in these cold nights.” Her eyes took on a pensive tone, and she glanced up from her fingers to regard Ser Krags solemnly. “Perhaps,” she considered, her voice tinged with amusement despite the earnestness of her expression, “but I don’t think she is the sort of flower you are used to gardening. I think you should trying questioning her before crawling into her bedsheets, but if it comes to that…” She shrugged, trying to hide a cringe. Bedding Lady Fenra would be like sleeping with an overly affectionate badger.

Krags snorted derisively, "If I asked the same of you I think you could out my heart."
Sighing, "I will go and talk with her. Milday." Ser Krags turned and walked back to the great hall trying to figure out which way Lady Fenra would leave, so he could accidentally bump into her.

The Lady Fenra comes out of the Great Hall, hoping to run into that handsome Ser Krags.

Stepping out Krags spoke to Lady Fenra, "Milady, I believe you offered me a drink earlier. I was just thinking how good that would taste right now." He bowed to her politely.

"Oh, yes Ser Krags. That sounds most delightful." Lady Fenra leads him up a flight of stairs and into her chambers. There is a comfortable looking divan. She sits, and suggests that he join her on it.

Sitting uncomfortably on the seat, Ser Krags asks "My drink?"
Staring at her, he nervously licked his lips, "You have a wonderful keep here. It would be easy to defend from attack."

"Yes, we do feel so safe here. So warm and comfortable and safe. Tell me, Ser Krags, do you have a wife at home in Blackwood?" She breaths in deeply in order to display her bust more prominently, puffed up like a peacock.
