"An exile prince, eh?, Prince of what?"

"The sailors bring all kinds of wild tales into Gulltown. Some say he is the last heir of Daemon Blackfyre, with silver in his hair and Dark Sister in his scabbard. Some say he's a merchant prince of Braavos. Others just call him the Heir, looking for his lost kingdom. It seems that the Free Cities love a romantic tale as much as we do." What she had said was true enough, but of course, Elane didn't reveal her true suspicion. In the back of her mind, she hoped Callen had died and Aranya was coming home.

"So a Prince of Nothing then. I have always worried, though, when Callen Baratheon's fate was so unknown. But it has been years." OOC: Obligatory R. Scott Bakker reference...

*I laughed when I read the Bakker reference. Nice one.*
"Callen Baratheon?" Elane smiled. "Well, he could fit the description, but I thought Maerys killed him."

"Guards whispered he leapt from a high window to avoid Maerys' blade, and his corpse was never found below."

"It might have be eaten by carrion crows, decayed beyond recognition in the Blackwater, joined the dozens of corpses that turn up in King's Landing everyday. I wouldn't listen to rumors myself; but then again, those very rumors probably give hope to men like Harry Lonmouth. And those lords whose hearts are still...antlered."

Steffen spoke up. "I wonder if we could fake a corpse, to end these rumours. We would need to die the hair partly silver, but it would not be too difficult."

"It seems dishonest, and too many years after the fact."

"Four years after his death, Callen's true corpse would be nothing but bones. You wouldn't need to be a maester to realize that."

Steffen laughed. "Aye. But not if we pretended he had died recently. We could fake a capture and execution. Few know his facial features. It would be a simple matter of dying the hair, and using some bandit already condemned to death." He shrugged. "It could work."

"It could, but it would be a wasted effort. Half the realm already thinks he's dead, and those who don't won't be fooled by some black-haired man having his head chopped off in King's Landing's market square. Best to ignore rumors of Callen, my lord. To react to them, we give them credence, and show King Aemon's fear to all the Six Kingdoms and Dorne."

"Aye, I believe you are right, coz. To make a mummer's farce would only make people wonder. It just leaves a sour taste in my mouth, the fear that he could return to steal my son's birthright. I have worked to hard to make the Stormlands strong again after his father neglected it for so long, the forgotten backwater."

The Songlord entered the feasting hall, and greeted Rhodri fairly informally he laughed, "I suppose this is your idea of taking me to a drink, eh? Never did end up getting one after that battle. The last time I was in Storm's End was for Yohn's birth, and now he's four! Look at how time passes..."

"It is shocking. Yohn is growing tall and wily already. I do hope your son Gideon is doing well recovering from his wounds."
"Tell me, Sylas, I know this is a night of merriment, but I'm sure you've heard word of the pirate fleet in the Sea of Dorne. I know Dondarrion has a small navy, a few dozen ships, but who is the commander? Do we have an admiral or man of worth? We must be mobilized."

Ser Kit Kidwell enterred the feasting hall beside Rhae. Rhae was an attractive young woman (though whispered to be no where near her sister Daena in beauty). Strangely, Rhae had the Targaryen silver hair, but it did not shine- instead it was more of a grey. It fell past her shoulders generally, but now she wore it up.
Ser Kit was bandaged and wearing a tabard of green and black. Rhae wore a sweeping cape of green and black (presumably Kit's).
