The rivermen enter the pavillion and sit down for the feast. All are present save Kevan Mallister, who is still recovering from his bout with Kid Death. As they walk in, Benfred Vance is heartily congratulating Warren Blackwood for his status as one of the champions.
Horas Blackwood walks over to the high table and bows once each to Rhrodri, Emelia, and Becca.
"Congratulations on your splendid tournament, Ser, My ladies. I do not think we have been properly introduced. I am Horas Blackwood, nephew to the Lord Terrence."
Meanwhile, Ser Kennos Keath walks over to where Robert Royce sits. He laughs and claps the older man on the shoulder. "You ride well, Royce. But if we chance to face each other in some other tourney, know that I will be the one keeping my seat."

Emelia grinned and nodded to Horas. "Greetings, young Lord Horas. I have heard so much about you...admittedly, mostly the smallfolk's rumors of sorcery and magic. Such colorful imaginations they have, don't you think?"

"Lord Piers", Rhodri nods. "My Naunt Lilith was always so fond of you."

"Oh yes," Horas laughed genially, "If there is one thing our smallfolk possess in abundance, it is imagination. If one possesses books, they are a wizard, it seems. But I must be telling you what you already know. I have heard the stories of the famous luck of Princess Emelia Martell as well."

"I would be honored to enter your service, my lord," Garrett Redfort said to Lord Rhodri. He hesitated. "Will I have your leave to ride for Lord Baldwin's tourney, after this?"
Elane was dancing, something she normally never indulged in. She danced with her uncle, Ser Robert, Ser Giles, Ser Kit Kidwell who looked so fearsome, and Warren Blackwood. Smiling, Tommen Redfort took her for a turn on the floor. His older brother Alliser sat drinking, nodding when he was congratulated.

She chuckled lightly. "Yes, though there's an occasional scrap of truth in the higher mysteries," she responded. "And my luck? It's just a sharp eye for opportunity, a lot of preparation and a couple of little knacks here and there. But then...not -all- rumors need to be lies."

"I shall ride for the Rock myself, young Ser, so you may ride in my company." Rhodri says to Garrett.

Garrett nodded, pleased.

Was she speaking of herself, or intoning something about him? Or perhaps it was simply an innocent statement. Horas was not sure, but suddenly felt very intrigued by this pale-skinned Dornishwoman. The tables were being cleared away and the music was starting for the dance. With a bout of spontaneity uncommon for Horas, he looked at Emelia and said, "The music has begun. Will my lady of Martell favor me with a dance?"

Emelia smiled at Horas. "Favor my paramour with one first," she responded briefly as Shajura looked toward Horas. "As the guest of honor, I should probably allow another the first dance." She waited to see if the Redroyce would catch her comment.

Tired of dancing, Elane invites Ser Robert and Ser Donal to sit with her.

The Redroyce, keen of hearing, notices the suggestion in Emelia's comment, and offers the Princess a dance. He is a better listener than dancer; he moves with the grace of a military man.

Garrett Redfort dances with Princess Rhae, who blushes at his smiles, and with Lady Becca and a dozen other eager maids. Alliser scornfully calls his brother the Knight of Pretty Eyes.

After his unfortunately awkward turn with the Princess Emelia (Rhodri does wish he were a better dancer), he pulls Elane over for a private conversation.
"It seems...you run most things in the Vale these days."

"I do," Elane replied as Rhodri spun her onto the floor. "Breyn's busy with his duties as Master of Laws. He named Uncle Robert his castellan, but nuncle is impatient with things like governance. His wife Lady Martina is worried about Jon, she does nothing. So I run the Vale. Breyn leaves me to it; I think he trusts me."
