Ser Robert breaks two lances against Ser Tomas. Fifteen-year old Garrett, however, is knocked clean off his horse in the first tilt. Alliser and Tommen wheel around to break their third lances.

"I had left him in King's Landing to be my man with the royals, and he was living in the Tower of the Hand. Apparently, Aranya moved in as his bedmate. So they were close, in their own way. She vanished, and he fell apart. Knowing Aranya, I assumed she had just gotten bored and moved onto the next adventure, but he took it personally."
"We argued, and he just drank. I heard later that he left the city, and I never heard word of him since."
"Aranya was a dear cousin, and fun, but the way she left Selwyn...it was harsh. She could have at least passed him word. He was young, only seventeen then."
"I wonder if he's still alive." A melancholy look sets in on Rhodri's face.

"You know Aranya," Elane said, thinking of Callen Baratheon. "She's such an impulsive girl, never thinks before she acts. I'm sure she didn't mean any harm to Selwyn. She didn't contact me either." To protect us. "Don't worry about Selwyn, Rhodri. I'll find him. I have spies in the crownlands, the Vale and now the riverlands. If he shows up I'll find him, and the first thing I'll do is send a raven to you."

OOC: Oh, I somehow thought you were deciding the tourney. Anyway, we can wait till Crake gets back.

"You haven't heard from her at all these years? When she ran off in the past she'd always send word to you, at least enough to know she was alive. I hope she's safe." Rhodri says.
OOC: I'm just relaying the news in this thread -- the determinations are happening in the "Battles and Fights" forum.

OOC: Ah, okay.
"I haven't heard from her in four years," Elane said tightly. "I keep having dreams that she's dead and she's calling to me." Her eyes stung, to her horror. She never lost control of herself like this.

"These are the best times and the worst. I have Storm's End and a thousand knights have come to do me honor. But I have lost Selwyn. You have become the Moon Maid and spin gold from the Mountain snow, but have lost Aranya."
"But I have my children now, and with Storm's End, I have a legacy to leave Yohn. I will not lose that, I cannot let it happen. And with my position, a good match can surely be made for Saella, a noble match."

The Princess Rhae Targaryen, who had been hiding and living a low profile for the past four years made her first appearance at the tourney as her love, Kid Death, was in attendance.

The Redroyce watches carefully to see if Daena betrays any reaction to Rhae, but in every other way acts the gracious host to the beautiful young woman. "Your highness, your presence does us honor."

A group of riverlands knights ride up, the largest banner bearing the standard of House Blackwood. In the lead is Warren Blackwood, heir to his house. Around him mill a few more minor lordlings hoping to test their skill at the lists. Joining Warren in the tournament will be young Kevan Mallister and Benfred Vance, neither much renowned for their skill at arms.
With Warren also rides his cousin Horas, called the Crow, and a small escort of his guard. Horas' captain, Ser Kennos Keath, will be entering the lists.
"The tournament has already started!" Mallister cries, dismayed.
Horas rides up to the man who can only be the host, a red haired lord in Royce colors.
"Is it too late for my companions to enter the lists?"

"Of course not. As long as there are challengers, the champions shall have to answer their call. Welcome to Storm's End, brothers."

OOC: To choose which champions you want to challenge, the jousters should head to the thread in the "Battles and Fights" forum, though we have a few fights pending right now.

Elane greets Princess Rhae, and looks over the new river knights. She is amused and fascinated. She turned to Rhodri. "Do I dream, or does that Blackwood knight have blue lips?" She had seen some Milk Men from Qarth look like that.

The fighting resumes, and Ser Alliser Redfort, ward of Runestone, scores two strikes against the Stormshield, with the second enough to defeat the Stormlander.
Lord Rhodri winces to see one of his champions felled, but gives credit to the Valeman.
Ser Robert Royce strikes a blow for Valeman chivalry, unhorsing the Dog of Lannisport with a single blow. Royce, uncle to two Lords but landless himself, laughs heartily at his success, and shouts to Rhodri, "We still can fight in the Vale!"
Though it took four charges, Ser Grandison, now called the "Waking Lion" by the audience in the stands, survives a blow from Tommen Redfort to eventually drive his foe from his horse and claim another victory. But his pleasure is short lived, for the Worm is already prepared to fight him.
