OOC: For this tourney swordsmanship will be weighted equal to lance skills, otherwise it would be way too much work. Already existing jousting skills will be seen as bonuses.

After five passes, Lord Cerdric Hasty is defeated by two successful blows from Ser Giles Grandison, and he remains among the champions. Challengers can now choose between Ser Brandon Buckler, Ser Tomas Clegane, Ser Giles Grandison, Lord Betram Selmy or Kid Death, Ser Kit Kidwell.

"Ah, young Grandison has been roused. That twas better than I expected from the young man. Perhaps the sleeping lion should be repainted to awoken."
Rhodri watches as Ser Harys Piper taps upon Grandison's shield. "Always interesting when a challenger throws his gauntlet at a man who just fought. Does he fear to fight a man who has already caught his breath?"

"If piper lasts a round i will be shocked. I only took him as a favour to his father."

Emelia grinned at the young Saella, hissing again playfully and lightly patting the young girl's head. "Adventurous, are you, little one?" She turned her head to the Redroyce. "She takes after her father."
She looked toward the field with a frown. "Are there none yet to challenge Kid Death?" she asked with a slight frown.
Hearing the Songlord's son issue the challenge just then, she smiled widely. "Ah, finally."

Piper lands in the dust upon the first tilt. Grandison struck him cleanly, and hard, straight across the breastplate and Piper flew from the saddle.
"Haha, fantastic. Grandison has now defended his shield twice! And I only took him as a favor to his father, but I guess he's born of better stock."
Rhodri is clearly pleased by Ser Giles Grandison's performance.

Emelia turned to Steffen with a raised brow. "Do so, Lord Steffen. Let us see if the Worm is truly kin to snakes and dragons, as some claim."

Steffen eyed the princess, before glancing at his wife. "On the contrary princess. I have never claimed to be kin to snakes. I will watch the next bout and consider."

"Please consider taking horse, Lord Steffen, the lists would be honored to have a knight and lord of such renown take part. I would joust myself, but it would be unseemly as judge and host for me to take part. I do look forward to your Uncle's tourney forthcoming, a chance to ride again."

As Caron is felled, Steffen steps forward. He kisses Daena, and whispers in her ear, "Coward?"

The Songlord's son, Gideon Caron, perhaps challenged above his station, for Kid Death drives him from the saddle, and he hits the ground hard and does not move. He appears badly wounded.
Rhodri quickly sends his maester to tend to Caron, and sends his cousin Elane, a skilled healer, as well. The Songlord is a valued friend of the Redspear's, and he feared for Gideon Caron.
Seeing the Worm scurry off to challenge Ser Giles Grandison, Rhodri shakes his head and says "He runs off and challenges the one man he's heard me call young and green. Would have been more seemly to leave Grandison to the squires and taken on Lord Selmy, Clegane or the Stormshield himself."

"Personally, I'd rather he faced Kid Death," responded Emelia tartly. "But facing the greenest of the knights serves as well." She smiled to Daena. "After all, if your husband loses, we ladies get to have a good laugh at his voice, and if he wins...he'll just have to face someone else looking to snatch an easy shield. His worth will show, one way or the other."
