A rider makes his way from the Dornish camp and closes in on the Blackhaven keep. Approaching the gates under a flag of neutrality he speaks to the gate keepers.
"Prince Lucian will allow the one called Buckler to meet with him in his camp. I am to escort him. Make haste."

The Dornish rider escorts Buckler and Tollet to Lucians command tent. Inside the tent stands five of Lucians guards. The rider brings the men inside and takes his leave.
"Speak your business and I will offer my terms. Dorne was remaining neutral in this but your King had terms of fealty or war. We now march north into your lands. Know this is because of your new King."

"Black" Ben Tollett, stood in black boiled leather under his father's black sable cloak (a deceased Night's Watchman). He made no emotion but uttered 'bullshit' under his breath and more clearly said, "That is madness. You obviously had no plans for peace- raising half the Dornish foot force before even being in contact with the throne, is hardly peaceful."

Lucian stood from his seat and approached Tollet,"War was spread throughour Westeros, we could not leave our borders undefended. We never left out borders until we were told that conflict would be used to get us to kneel."
He turned and moved back to his small desk and leaned against it facing the two men. "Surrender here at Blackhaven, and revoke your fealty to the dragon King. Have the Songlord menace Tyrell and have him sent to Sunspear under our guard to swear fealty to the Princess. Dondarrion shall swear fealty to Dorne as well. If not then I suggest you leave run and hide in the keep."

Buckler had hoped for calmer negotiations, that reason could be seen, that the Dornish would give up their futile attempt at conquest. But he could see from Lucian Martell's demeanor, however, that no peace would be brokered today.
"This is madness. You speak of freedom, of sovereignty, of independence, and in the same breath you march on Blackhaven. Any right you had to claim some higher purpose was trampled in the mud under your war-wagons when you invaded the Stormlands."
"Your grief and grievance is with the King, but you'll make the people of Blackhaven suffer because your dispute turned sour?"
"I care not if Dorne kneels to Aegon or drifts away an island. But you have no right, no right at all to an inch of the Stormlands. Return down the Boneway, and defend your ground against the wrath of the Dragon Kings if you must, but you will either leave this land now, alive, or be dead underneath our walls."
"We yield nothing."

Lucian sighed and moved back to be face to face with the two men. He lurched forward and spoke,
"The Songlord is a Stormlander, the armies raised are Stormland men, Nightsong is a Stormland castle, and the King's Hand is Lord Paramount of the Stormlands, so the Stormlands are our foemen, and as long as that is the case, we will fight on your lands as well as ours."
He turned and paced about the tent and and swung around his temper on the edge but manages to keep himself under control.
"We do not wish to take the Stormlands, but as long as your fealty lies with the new King then we will fight where we must. Swear fealty to Dorne and we will leave the Stormlands as they are. We are merely making the first move before the dragons armies have a chance to strike at us. Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken my good Ser's."

Black Ben Tollet sneered at the Martell, "I am a Valesman, and your declaration of hostility applies to me and my kinsmen as well. Your willingness to challenge us will show make Dorne bend, break and then bow to the Dragon King." With this, he took his absence and rode back to Blackhaven in preparation for an impending fight.

"Foemen? And why are we even foemen? The Princes in Sunspear have been vassel to the Iron Throne for centuries. There is no living man or woman who remembers Dorne as a sovereign kingdom, no different from the North or even the Stormkings."
"We are countrymen, not foemen, and to pay homage to King's Landing from afar will save much blood, blood of Dornishmen and Stormlanders, and Tyrells as well."
"But that choice is yours. My choice is to defend my homeland from incursion, and you will find that whatever differences may be between the Andal kingdoms, we will unify under the threat of your spears."
"Reconsider and retreat. If you do not, I hope to see your bloody corpse in the dust of your fleeing army, warmonger."
With that, Ser Brandon Buckler returns to Blackhaven.

Lucian gave a cunning smile as he heard the words "Reconsider and retreat." He spoke as Buckler began to leave.
"It is unfortunate to see the Songlord arrive so soon to secure aid. We will retreat back to Dorne for now. We are not fools to fight the Songlord on battlements of his choosings. I would hope you do not pursue our retreat back through the Bone Way."
Lucian had not wanted to retreat but was confident they could not beat Caron here. He gave the orders to march back to the Bone Way. Weapons ready to attack if the Stormlanders and Valesmen alike attempt to attak.

A band of Dornish riders rode up toward Blackhaven, clad in the livery of Martell. As they reached the gates, the leader shouted up to the guards.
"We are men of Dorne, acting for the Princess and bearing messages in her name. Who leads here?"

Jon Sand rode into the castle to meet the Castellan, carrying a letter in his hand. "Things are worse than I thought," he said, somewhat regretfully. "Sir Castellan, Emelia has sent me to propose this. The Stag has not won yet, and those who stood against him still live. As I am sure you have heard, Dorne will not stand for Callen as king. Accordingly, Dorne asks for an axis of mutual defense with the Stormlands; both sides will recognize the legitimacy of Kings Aegon and Aemon, and stand together against any reprisal from Callen Baratheon."
He looked at the Castellan. "I realize that there is no Lord Paramount of the Stormlands anymore. The Redroyce has gone away and the Dondarrion King is dead; there is no clear successor unless another Dondarrion heir lives. But you lead in Blackhaven, and if you make the call to stand against the Stag, if you take the lead, the other Storm Lords will follow."
