The Storm's End parade grounds are in the shadow of the great curtain wall. Here young men-at-arms, squires and knights learn the skills of warfare and horsemanship. Ser Felwick Gower, a brutal and powerfully built axeman, has been appointed Master-at-Arms, and teaches his charges with a steely eye and commanding presence.

Since his arrival, Rhodri Royce has spent each early morning, in the first light, training in the yard with Felwick Gower and other knights whose skill he respects. While the war may be over, hard times seem to be on the horizon. He cannot allow his skills to ebb. He spends extra time on his swordwork, a weapon he has snubbed in the past but he recognizes the practicality of learning.

Rhodri Royce is now using the training yard to get the newest recruits up to speed should they be needed in the defense of the Stormlands, whilst communicating with the Stormshield in Blackhaven via messenger as to the movements of the Dornish army.

Lonmouth rode into the Training Yard at Storm's End. By all rights it was a small village, with a few families, and quite a few business popping up in the shadow of the walls. He dismounted near the blacksmith and entered into the building where he was hit by the sweltering heat. He looked around the room and spotted a small, but stocky, old man in the room working on a piece of metal on an anvil. "Waymar you old sot, the past few years have been kind to you I see." He clapped the man on the shoulder.

Waymar the Smith is taken by surprise at seeing Lonmouth, and more so by the shape Lonmouth is in. But he embraces his old friend. OOC: Technically in my employ, so I'll play him, but I'll play fairly to whatever end your after.

Lonmouth pulled back from the man, "So how's business going on with the tourney and all?"

"Tourneys are great for men of my trade, I always rejoice for the coming of summer. Summer always means either tourneys or war, since men have the time and no more snow to keep them home. Either way, I have stock to sell. Have you come out of hiding to ride once more? You knights never know when to give up the glory."

"Actually I have a matter to attend to here at the tourney," He eyed Waymer warily, "how loyal are you to the Baratheons?"

"Baratheons? Are there Baratheons? An old crone in Harrenhal, going mad in the Broken Tower. I liked the Baratheons well enough, but the Redroyce has treated me right as well. I suppose I'm loyal to whoever gives me coin. But the game of thrones just isn't something I care about no more, I forge steel not thrones."
"A man like you, though, I expect you'll never stop chasing those ghosts."

"I'm not talking about the old queen, I'm talking about him, the Heir." said Lonmouth. Waymar's eye's widened and then he started to shake his head. Lonmouth quickly interjected before the smith could say anything, "and I don't need you to do anything drastic." He pulled out the end of a lance from his saddlebag, "I just need you to strengthen the shaft of this lance , and mabye hide an iron tip underneath the end. I'm going to challenge Kid Death."

"You believe he killed Rodrick then? I've heard those rumors. If any man could, it was him. As I said, I'm passed caring for the game, but it'd be only right. Kill a man in battle, fair enough. Kill a man in his tent, well, fie on you and your kin."
"I'll do it, and I'll never tell a soul."

"My thanks Waymar. Just make sure that tourney lance is enough to kill Kit, but weak enough to still kill him, and if you could make another three just like it, well....." Lonmouth dropped a pouch full of coins on the smith's anvil. "I mean to see this through, Kit killed the man I had sworn to defend, and I mean to fulfill my vow as a knight of the Kingsguard."

"Wait to make your challenge until the second day, to give me time to work on this."

"Is it done yet?" asked Lonmouth as he walked into the smithy. "I going to challenge Kidwell today."

"It is. But whether this goes well for you or ill, speak my name to none but the rightful King," Waymar says, a bit nervously.
