The old keep of Mistwood, a stone castle upon a hill on Cape Wrath, stands lookout over the Sea of Dorne amongst the dense trees of the Rainwood. The owl banner of the old Lord Mertyn has been lowered and a new one replaced it: a bronze colored flag, bearing a burning spear crossed with a red lightning bolt, with ancestral runes around the border.

Upon receiving word, the foresters of the keep at Mistwood start felling trees to send timber as a gift to Dorne. The steward of Mistwood also sends scouts to the shores of the Sea of Dorne, to warn the Stormlands of any approaching ships, as well as warning to Estermont and Rain House.

A few days later after returning from a sea voyage and taking residence in his ancestral keep, Ser Jason Seaworth comes calling at Mistwood with a small party of retainers, including his nephew Kevan Storm and a pair of scowling marines in Seaworth livery.
They come to pay their respects to the new Lady of Mistwood, and arrive bearing gifts: a bottle of Arbor Gold for the steward, a rare book of Valyrian poetry for the maester, and for Lady Saella herself, a cunningly wrought jeweled bird. Made by a master craftsman in Oldtown, gears and springs make the bird's eyes, head and wings move in an almost lifelike way.

The Castellan, Ser Alwyn Swann, greets Ser Jason warmly; the two, while not close, have known each other for some years.
"I am sad to say you missed the young lady. She has been taken to Storm's End, at least until the war has passed. The Lady Becca does prefer life here, but Mistwood lacks the walls to make the girl truly safe. It is said that Aedon will kill all with Targaryen blood, and Saella is in danger."

Ser Jason seems disappointed to have missed Lady Saella, but bides a time at Mistwood conversing with Ser Alwyn.
While there, Ser Jason seeks to negotiate a good price to purchase the seasoned timber gathered at Mistwood, and idly speculates with Ser Alwyn as to the outcome of the War of Three Kings and which king the Redroyce and the Stormlands is likely to support.
Of course, neither of the knights could have guessed the surprising turn of events that actually came to pass in King's Landing!

The castle Maester, a fit and trim figure recently from the Citadel, enters the room and presents Ser Alwyn with a message from the Rookery. "I see...thank you, Maester Nasry."
"It would seem events race in front of us. You said when you left Storm's End, all seemed normal there and men spoke of the Redroyce. Now I receive word from Lord Valwert and Ser Edrick that Storm's End has sworn to King Callen, as has the Redroyce himself. They urge the remaining Stormlords to do the same, for the peace of the realm."
"We may not yet know how that battle went, but it seems clear we know who won."

Ser Jason took the news well. "A Baratheon on the throne again! Praise the gods. I pray this will help settle things down in the Six Kingdoms once more."
"Now, you must pardon me while I return to my keep and my ships with the news. You may be sure that my men and ships stand with the lord of Storm's End, and the rightful King."
With that, Ser Jason and his small party take their leave.
