Lysette had been prepared to loathe her northern husband and show it, but she was surprised at how young and good-looking her lord was, with easy assurance and a reputation as a war hero. No, a murderer of my people, she thought, with anger. She had wept bitter tears when she had seen their army destroyed, their peasant folk massacred. She had been full of guilt and anger.
"Thank you, my lord," Lysette said with cool courtesy.

Robb looked a little unsure of himself for just a moment, before smiling and moving to Lord Vaith. He ignored the woman for several minutes as he and her father conversed and even shared a few laughs. Finally, he turned back to Lysette, the feast was now underway. "Would milady fancy a dance?"

Lysette took his hand and rose gracefully. She was thrown by his friendship with her father. "Perhaps one," she said grudgingly.

"Even one dance with you would be most pleasing, milady." He led her to the floor and held her close, but appropiate. Leaning in, he said, softly, "Does milady find me handsome? Your eyes betrayed your manner of coolness, I'm afraid."

Lysette laughed at him. "Why, my opinion hardly seems to matter, for my lord finds himself handsome enough already. My eyes said nothing."

Robb grinned, and also laughed. "I believe we will get along just fine, milady. I am most anxious for you to see Horn Hill. It is not that far away from Dorne, your homeland; it sets just off the marches, south and east of Highgarden."

Lord Vaith watched his daughter laughing with the invader, and sighed, holding his cup he drank deeply of Dornish wine.

"Just so long as it's not too near that rose garden," Lysette said, not troubling to hide her contempt. The Dornish did not love the Reachmen, Tyrells most of all.
She spun and danced with him, graceful and light on her feet. Lysette was surprised at what a good dancer he was, and how much she liked his smiles. She gritted her teeth.

After the dance began to slow again, he said, "Milady is not fond of the Tyrells and their flowers? Then that is well, indeed. Neither am I, or my allies. That is why I enjoy being so close to them; if they start any trouble," he said, suddenly bringing her close to his body as the song ended, "then I can reel them in." He smiled and kept her gaze. "Come, let us return to the feast before your father challenges me to a duel." His grin was friendly.

Lysette raised an eyebrow and smirked at him. "Is that how it is?" she said softly. "Come then, I think my father intends to feed you some more."

Lord Vaith eyed his daughter traipsing in the arms of the Reach lord, and he wept internally, for Dorne.
With a wide smile, "Milord Tarly, you are as nimble a dancer as you are a swordsman."

Robb decided to take it as a full compliment after thinking for a moment. "Thank you, milord." Settling down again, he said, genuinely curious, "Lord Vaith, where did you and your men fight at during the war?"

Alexander slams his palm against his head when hearing the question from the young Tarly, and just when things were going reasonably well. Alexander pretended not to listen although he was interested in the answer as well.

Robb notices Lord Alex's reaction. Trying to decide what he had done wrong, he went with the option of letting Lord Irwyn fix it. Turning to the famous general, he said, "The food is delicious, is it not, milord? And the wine strong and sweet."

"That is true Lord Tarly, I have not found better fruit in all of Westeros then on the rivers Greenblood and Vaith, and here I thought all of Dorne was a desert Lord Vaith," Alexander says trying to give the Dornish Lord an escape from answering questions about the conflict.
