Aerie's smile fell like a pile of bricks, but she hitched it back up once more with renewed vigor and equal resolve. “Don’t be silly, Ser Brandon. I will not need a guard while I experience Dorne. That would take all the excitement out of it. I’m sure your services will be truly required elsewhere. They shouldn’t be wasted on a frivolous trip.”

"On the contrary, my lady. I believe this recent incident illustrates quite clearly that a small escort would be very helpful for you. And there is no "waste" in serving a noble lady," Ser Brandon says, "I would consider it an honor."

Aerie dropped her smile altogether and regarded the stubborn man in annoyance. “What happened today was a tragic misunderstanding,” she said levelly, “but if you wish to waste your time following me around then that is your choice. Just don’t spoil the fun. The purpose of this trip is to relax.” She wished she didn’t feel like she had just attached herself to Horas’s hounds.

Ser Brandon nods, and says with infuriating courtesy, "My lady is correct, of course. It will be my duty to prevent such tragic misunderstandings from happening again. I will remain constantly vigilant so that you may relax as you see fit."

Aerie glared at him wordlessly, having nothing to say to his reply. He would make this difficult she knew, but she couldn’t have persisted further without confirming the suspicion she knew he felt. “Then remain vigilant while I find somewhere to stay. I might be accosted by overzealous hawkers” she snapped irritably, motioning for Seth to follow and trying to comfort herself with the fact that at least it wasn’t Ser Kennos Keath.

Brandon falls in alongside Aerie, the rest of the guards fanning out around them.
"Indeed," Ser Brandon says in his same polite tone. "Should any salesmen deign to accost you too zealously, I shall be sure to step in to stop them with all necessary haste."
It is very difficult to tell whether the man is being serious or sarcastic.

Aerie eyed Ser Brandon in mixed amusement and bemusement, not quite certain what to make of him. Perhaps Horas had sent him after her to drive her insane so he could take Treason. That seemed to be everybody’s goal these days. “You do that…” she said slowly, thinking that perhaps he wouldn’t be so difficult to deal with after all. I could always send him after the invisible sand monster if he gets to be too meddlesome.

"I assure you, Lady Aerie, I shall," Brandon says. Then he falls silent, his watchful eyes scanning the crowds of people on the street and occasionally even Seth.

Seth was happy to be reunited with Iron. The cub had not grown much since the imprisonment, but was eating as if he had been starved. Seth chuckled a little at the shadowcat, before turning to Aerie. "I think we should tread carefully around Dorne. That one is quite the firebreather." He said, motioning towards the tower.
"Though I will admit, the cell was very cozy indeed."

“I got a room,” she shrugged indifferently, “but she didn’t want to climb into bed with you, so I think you received the better end of the deal. But now we have dear Ser Brandon to deal with. He was appalled with the idea of me breathing without assistance. I suppose we’ll have to make use of him.”

Seth smiled inquisitively at Brandon. "Well met." He said, humored.
"I am Seth, by the way."

"I trust my lady will be able to operate her lungs most ably without my assistance," Brandon says, "Though should she begin respiring irregularly I would be more than happy to escort her to a trained maester to identify the source of the unfortunate problem."
Then Ser Brandon turns to Seth and bows, "I am aware of your name, Lord Falgrave. I am Ser Brandon Rivers."

Tristeza had been a long time arriving in Sunspear--she had not travelled more than twenty miles when a messenger caught up to her company to inform her that the Ironborn Assault had been postponed indefinitely--there was other trouble to deal with, and Dorne could not spare rescources to wage a presently noncrucial war against the Iron Islands--of the details, the lone messenger had been vague, but a letter signed in Emelia's hand told her that he was, at the least, genuine. At the Prince's Pass, she sent most her entourage home to King's Landing, and continued with only one of her original six companions--a burly man called Kardaine, who had proven his loyalty almost as soon as the party had departed King's Landing during an assault by nomadic thieves. It was at the earliest hour of morning, before the sun had even begun to brighten the edges of the horizon when she arrived at the stoop of the Tower of the Sun, and requested to reside there, until more personal accomodations could be found in Sunspear.

When she returns to the keep word is sent that the Rrincess wishes to see her as soon as Tristeza has recovered from her travel.

Upon receiving Emelia's invitation, Tristeza puzzled endlessly over the fact that her cousin had come to Sunspear--surely the "trouble" was not here, and she had exrpressed upon their last visit complete rejection of the suggestion that she return home...the streets of the Martell's city were quiet and clean; the trouble was elsewhere, and she found it concerning that Emelia would then not be elsewhere as well. Regardless, after less than an hour (which included a bath and a meal), Tristeza, with Kardaine at her side, arrived, as bidden, outside Emelia's chambers.
