"I was his Capitan of his Guard for all most five years then I was made the Captain Prime. Lord Tallahar is a great man and he has rewarded me with much Gold and land I owe much to him."

"Very well." Francis said as they road stretched out before them seemingly endless. "How has your Lord Tallahar taken to being Master of Laws? From what little I remember from my time fostering at Highgarden, I'd have thought it a task which did not suit his preferences."

Nathan laughs very loudly, "You can say that again M'Lord, Tallahar has little patience but he is smarter then most give him credit for plus there is his wife who is smart enough for the both of them. With those two together I am sure he will be fine with his new power of being the Master of laws." Nathan has a smile on his face as he rides.

Francis nodded in understanding. It was often the case that within marriages one would find a combined threat greater than its independent parts. "And how is Lady Haley these days?" Francis had never met the woman, but had heard good things. Like that she had common sense enough to counteract the more impulsive Tallahar. It was to hoping.

"Lady Haley is happy I must say and busy, She adores all four of there children even more maybe now that Edmure has left." Nathan looks sad about that, "But tell me M'Lord what of your family."

"There is painfully little to tell I'm afraid. Lord Marcus Varner, my father has passed away, and my brother Jarrad rules now. My mother Ilsebeth, who is Lord Barret's Aunt, is still in mourning, truth told, I think it likely she'll remain a widow for good. I'm afraid I have no family of my own. As long as Jarrad remains unmarried, its unlikely anyone will stoop to marrying their daughter to the second son. I admit, I am envious of men who can boast of large families, but it seems a pleasure the Seven are intent on denying me."
They rode on in silence for a moment or two before Francis spoke again. "I imagine you to be a man with his own large family, am I correct Ser Nathan?

A large smile spreads across Nathans face. "Yes I am married to Chelsea the most beautiful woman alive we have seven children together and more if I had my way. But my loyalty to Tallahar calls for me to be home very little." Nathans eyes go distant as he looks towards New Barrel and thinks of his family there.

"Yes. I shall tell Lord Tallahar that you deserve some time at home. He won't deny that a more a man has at home to fight for, the better he fights," Francis smiled . "And all I ask in return is if Tallahar agrees, name the fellow Francis after me."

Nathan laughs, "Too true my Friend too true. But no I go where the Warden orders me to go for I am his friend and loyal subject."

"Your devotion is most impressive." Francis concluded "I say this is an accursedly long ride." Francis still wasn't keen on horse riding. It remained outside his nature. No, like the weasel on his banner, Francis preferred to say low to the ground, better to remain out of sight and trouble. And all the fuss surrounding it. Who rode best, who was fastest was silliness. A horse was a way to get from A to B, and little else if you asked him.
"While this is nice country, I'll confuse to being a city man. I shall look forward our arrival in King's Landing."

"Well then my Friend we are very different I can not stand the cities I think that is why I let Tallahar order me around so much. I could ride through this realm all my life and never grow bored of it." Nathan still has a smile on his face making him look younger.

"I don't doubt it Ser Nathan. I think i shall leave the riding to you. Give me the thick high walls of a city, with its crush of people, and the different sights and smalls. That's the thing for me."

"I would you weren't from the Raech if I had not meet you at Highgarden. Well it does not matter." Nathan looks to the sky and then ahead, "Well stop here tonight and make camp." Nathan stops his horse and gets off like a natural.

Francis sort of slithers off his horse, managing to not upend himself or send the animal galloping off. Jarvis dismounts as well, and begins to set up Francis' tent, while the Varner walks amongst the Golden Roses, learning what he can of the men, their habits and their past. When his tent is up, he returns.
