Aethan nodded, and turned toward the pair of twins. "Haven't seen either of you in this camp either. What do you do here, or are you here to join like the Riverwoman?"

"You look like a pig already," Mellara said in disgust. "You don't need the pigfat."

"I be joining riverwoman night now," one says, until the other gores him with his elbow in the gut -- aimed right towards an open wound. The second brother says "We fight for food. Me Fie, him Fee."

The old man grumbled something about wasting perfectly good grease, but poured some into a small trench of bread for the man.

"Er ya is, boyo." He said.

Aethan nodded. "Alright," he responded. "Same deal then."

He looked at the bowl of grease, then back at Lucky Jae, waiting for his slightly-oversized share of dead pig.

Mellara shrugged, took her bacon, and sat on the log beside Aethan. "You have more," she said in a bland voice.

Jae smirked at Aethan and handed him a bread trencher with a heap of bacon on it. "Enjoy eht."

He scowled as the girl took her own bacon. "Her be mah fire. You wanna grabba sum bacons, you cook eht. Otterwize, you wait yer turn." Jae scolded the girl. Then he helped himself to a good portion.

"Ah'll save sum bones fer Gian' boyo."

Aethan looked at Mellara. "I'm the captain," he responded. "I eat first and get first pick of the loot."

Gurn eyed Mellara. "Pretty," he said, in a voice that was half a growl and half a bark.

"Aye, captain," Mellara said respectfully, with another bland smile.

She turned to Gurn and simply stared. "How did you get that size?"

Aethan looked to Gurn. "Bring those two over here." He pointed to Dort and Angul.

"Gian' boyo!" Jae yelled to Gurn. When the giant looked up, Jae tossed him bones from the boar he had torn the meat from. "Lotso marrow inneh."

Gurn starts to get annoyed with so many people talking to him. He puts the bones between his teeth then walks over to Dort and Angul and lazily drags them back before letting them fall at Aethan's feet.

When he returns he crunches some bones slowly before turning to Mellara "Gurn not big, Pretty small."

Fee and Fie squat near the fire and start pulling off bits of meat and bone. Fee -- or is it Fie? -- breaks one of the bones in two and begins to suck out the hot marrow.

Jae scowls at the leftovers. A small sum. Probably only enough to feed the remaining newcomers and no more. He puts a hand on his stomach and sighs. "Soddin' wunderfer."
