One morning, as the collum starts to move again, Randal calls Clive over.
"Clive, my boy, i would like a word."

"Lord?" Clive inquired. Thinking he was about to be punished, Clive walked towards the Lord hesitantly, his head downwards.
He was a muscular boy for his age. His frame was bulked, and he walked with an stuttering gait, a seventh birthday present from his brother's morningstar. He trundled over to the Lord and kept his head low.
"I swear, whatever it was, I had no part in it, Lord." The boy professed, still not meeting the man's eyes.

"Cider Hall, hmm? I am familiar with a few of the Fossoways. Lord Gordon Fossoway was a friend of mine. A brave man...", Barret seemed to trail off. "I see you've met Seth, yes?", the Lord of Highgarden said as he gestured to his newest friend.

Ser Renald gave him the briefest of look overs.
"Perhaps we have run across one another before, but I doubt it. No doubt he has heard of me. The Grand Defenders are somewhat of a childhood tale. But it is my life, tale or not."
He nodded to Lord Tyrell. "Having a successful campaign?"

Barret nods back, "Have you not heard word? The North has surrendered and we are marching home."

"Sorry miLord, but us Defenders don't see much of the news. We spend most o' our time in the backwoods, chasin' after bandits and the like. It's good to hear the highfolk are still safe."
He wheeled his horse around to look for his men. "Most o' them don't know much about the big wars, only our wards with them raiders and those who would try ter hurt the low-born folk." He laughed then and smacked Seth on the shoulder. "Cheer up then, you look right depressed!"
Seth simply grumbled, eyeing the suroundings with a hand on his bow.

Barret smiled politely, "Will you accompany us south aways, Renald? Have you ever been to the Landing or Highgarden?"

He smiled. ''Me an' my boys were headin' in that direction, truth be feared!" Sitting forward on his horse he weaved next to Barret.
"It'll be good ter eat regularly again. An' an army can fare against bandits just as well as the 'leven o' us. I think we will walk witcha a bit more, Lord."
Seth frowned. "Are you sure that is wise, Ser Renald? Aren't the small folk in need of protecting?" He seemed intent.
Renald laughed. "Bandits ha' been scared o' these armies fer a while now. Not to worry. They'll be safe fer a time."
Seth just shook his head, and continued along, not saying much, as Renald continued his conversation with Barret.

"My boy, Clive, you are not in trouble. QUite the oppisite, in fact. You are well on your way to excellence, going ever closer to knighthood. Much like old Jamie in your blood, i'd say. But for now, i would like to hear your thoughts on a betrothal."

"Berothal?" He looked confused. "But Cedric is older 'n me. He's the one that'll prolly inherit the bene.....ben...things of value. What good would berothing me do?" Clive had naught a way with words, which wasn't to say that he was particularly daft, but he had a certain, lack of refinery, shall we say?
"I wanna be a Kingsguardsman. I aim to get that job. Marrying is for lords and the like. I'm a soldier, Lord." He did not want to be berothed, in fact, he was quite afraid of women.

Randal gives Clive a dark smile, "While your brother may be older, he has gotten my ability to find trouble. And to insult men of the Reach. Not to be harsh, but such abilities are not conductive to a long life. I would betroth one of you... if only to mantain the house. Were i to perish, i would perish knowing that the House would continue."
Randal rides for a moment, thinking, before speaking again. "But why all this depressing talk, I want to talk of you, you Clive. They tell me you fought in the battle, before you were my squire, before what happened to Neil. Tell me, are these rumors true?"
