Andrew walked along the dock, searching to the ship Kingfisher.

He finds a sleek looking warship. The crew languishes around, looking a bit crestfallen.

He stops in front of the gangplank.
"Andrew Royce seeks promission to come aboard"
He would be taking this slow as the men had just lost their captain, and didn't know Andrew, so they would probably be a little guarded around him.

Nearby, a man dressed in red robes with long red hair stands on top off of a crate.
He raises his hands and his voice, "Friends, strangers, countrymen, lend me your ears! In your hearts, you feel the Warrior's touch as you prepare for what is surely to come. You know that you may not survive and many of you have young ones you may never see again... I only come to say that whether you live or die, the strength and conviction you bring into battle will survive beyond the death of your flesh. For your souls are guided by something greater than the steel of other men..."
Then he drew his own sword and waving his hand across it, it lit itself in flame. "...but are guided by a finer quality of blade!!"

Andrew looked over at the preacher standing nearby. By the looks of him, he was probably a follower of R'hllor. He'd had a few dealings with priests of that god during his years as a trader, but had never been swayed by their fancy workings. He didn't move, awaiting the permission to come aboard his new ship.

OOC - I thought it was no magic for this character?

OOC - I said he was a priest, not a sorcerer. But R'hllor is a very cool Lord of Light and faith is a powerful force.

OOC - I got that part.. I'm talking about the sword lighting afire. How'd you do that without magic?

OOC - Higher Mysteries are not to be explained to the uninitiated. Trust me... Smith is in on it.

A crewmember near the gangway, watches the red robed man and his parlor trick, and then languidly turns to Andrew. "A Royce, eh? And what'll you be needin' to come aboard for?"

Then he held the sword by its blade... there was a small crowd gathering to see this stranger. They had never seen any mummer do that.
"Know that the fire burns through us, but it does not scorch. This is the same fire that is in every lover's loins and every fighter's eyes. It is not to be feared... merely revered."
He opened his hand and the sword floated in mid-aior for a few seconds as he grasped the handle again. "But like all great emotion..." Another wave of his hand over the blade, snuffing out the fire somehow. "It burns out quickly. That is why we all must learn to grasp our own burning swords oneday... become Smiths in our own right."

"It looks like Lord Sunderland has put me in charge of this vessel, to captain her during the bad times we have in front of us"
He took a step on the gangway.

The strange man sheathed his sword, stepped down off the crate, and walked away from the harbour, though notably not alone anymore.

"Alright then, Captain Royce. Name's Jacks, and I'm the first mate aboard this vessel. You'll find in her decent enough repair." The man gave a lazy salute.

A messenger came striding up to Kingfisher. "I bring orders from Admiral Sunderland for master of the Kingfisher.
