"Very well, Tallahar," Horas says, ignoring the insult. "You will return to the Far Reach with Lord Varner's retinue at the conclusion of the tournament. You may collect your effects from Uplands, and then you must go to King's Landing to swear your oath before the High Septon."

"I am sure you will find out in time, Tallahar. You may ask him yourself," Horas says. "By the way, it would be best if your Golden Roses stayed apart from you until your vow is sworn. Perhaps you could send them to your kinsman Rindwynd, or send them North to serve your second son."

"If I am told to do something I wish to know why. Now tell me why or the Golden Roses march with me."

"Because I cannot trust you not to do anything rash until your vow is sworn," Horas says. "So they will not march with you."

"I see no reason to indulge you, Tallahar."
Horas leaves and returns to his own tent. The guards will not stop Tallahar when he leaves the encampment.

Tallahar laughs as the hand leaves, "Bastard."

When Horas returns, Francis raises an eyebrow. "What is the situation Milord Hand? Does the Dawn Raider see the light?"

"Lord Tallahar can be a most frustrating man to speak with," Horas says, "But he has accepted the offer."

"I hope he didn't spit on you also." Francis said with some levity. "He has a great deal of armed men with him, mercenaries and guards. How would you estimate my relative safety here and during my journey home?" Francis asked, his brow wrinkling with concern.
