"You would presume wrong." Francis says, not deigning to elaborate. "But I thought you'd like to meet a my good friend Ser Alexander of Irwyn. He also favors axes." Francis raised his hand and summoned the knight whose banner was a tree with three white birds on field of red.

"Ser Alex, this is Lord Erik Coldiron from the Iron Islands." Francis gestures by way of greeting. "He's also favors the axe in combat. I thought you two might have something in common."

Erik holds his hand out to shake the knight's. "A pleasure, Ser Alexander. In what events will you be competing?"

"Just the melee and the horse competition, never been one for the lance its to unwieldy." Alexander offers.

"Yes, I understand. We Ironmen don't sit very steadily on horses, I'm afraid, and I share my people's weakness. My lady wife here, however, will be racing with you. Dothraki, you know, she could ride before she could crawl."
Rhelis smiles when she is mentioned and says, "My Lord bought me a fine horse for the res...race. A Khal would be proud to ride him."

"Indeed," Alexander says "A fine horse and a fine rider make for a dangerous pair."

Francis watched the scene with interest. The Iron Born really could put your people to the sword and burn your homes, and than hold a conversation just as nice as you please. Not your people, Francis, he reminded himself, Uncle Rindwynd's people. It's different now. No longer your quarrel.
"I've never been much of a rider either." Francis truthfully. "Will the lady be doing archery too? I hear the Dothraki are often wicked with a bow as well."

"No, Lord," The girl tells Francis, "All Dothraki ride, but the women, we do not fight so much. But if I win, my lord has promised me a bell for my hair."
"Ser Alex," Erik interjects, "Would you be interested in a little sparring match? I don't want to be too rusty for the tourney. Dreadfully few merchant ships to hit on the way here."

"Indeed. Well than I wish you luck, I don't think Ser Alex would ride faster if I promised him a bell for his hair, but it wouldn't hurt I suppose." Francis japed.

Ser Alexander eyes the Ironborn precariously, he'd heard tales of their viciousness but nothing strengthened a man like a little sea salt. "Very, well I accept. If we are going to start the melee on the same side I'd like to know my counterparts strengths." Alexander figures theres no harm the man probably only wants to test his mettle like him. "Do you fight with one axe or two Lord Coldiron?" Alexander says, sending a page to grab his own two training axes from the tent.

Tallahar came out of his tent to see what was happening and was pleased to find a fight was happening. He cheered for the Reachman.

Erik helps Alexander up after the fight. "Well fought," he tells the knight with a smile, "have you ever considered reaving for a living?"
