"Hullo, my darling" Lilith greets him and gives him a very warm hug, so glad to see him alive. "Aranya has her own wounds she's fighting, but we can give you a palette next to her and Elane can see to both of you. But first let me clean you up."
She gives him a once over, cleans off the worst of his wounds, feeds him a cup of well aged single malt, and then puts neat stitches across a number of gaping cuts. She then leads him across the ballroom to Aranya, Elane and the wildlings, and watches as he practically falls onto his pallette, but manages somehow to grab Aranya's hand while doing so. Aranya smiled a soft smile at him, letting her warrior's steely gaze drop for a minute.

For the first time since the battle started, Lilith takes a break, and walks out on the battlements to see what she knew would be carnage.
Even knowing that she would see death did not prepare for the carnage that lay before her, the corpses of men and horses that lay scattered as far as she could see. Even from the castle she could smell the stench of death, that combination of rotting meat and aging shit that could make the strongest stomach hurl.
Then she heard a cry of pain and realized that there were living among the dead. Living who would soon themselves be corpses if nobody got them to safety.
She went back to the ballroom and let Elane know what she was doing. She took every spare man and woman who could walk with her. They made a mottley crew, most were bandaged and battered, but understood her mission.

Steffen closed his eyes. He was starting to feel the effects of whatever they had given him. He felt energy returning to his body once more. He coughed, and spoke.
"Wheres Baldwin? The riverlands he said. And a wife. Where is my wife?" His eyes were unfocused, and he spoke feverishly, his voice dry and cracked. Then he opened his eyes. It had become clear. "I need to kill Callen."

Lilith returned from the field of death with a 1000 dying men. As she stood before the ballroom door, she debated where to put them all she heard Ser Steffen call out.
Lilith called for a cool cloth on his head, and answered, "Callen is among the hostages being marched to Kings Landing. My kinsmen Lord Breyn and Ser Rhodri are guarding him. He will see the king's justice." She paused and continued, "We have also let Lord Baldwin know you are here."
Three hundred pallettes lay before her, a few empty. They were quickly filled, next she lay out the men in the halls, the grand entrance, and the jousting yards. The men with fever she put in the chapel, hoping to keep contagions from spreading. When finally all were settled, she crawled to a corner of the ballroom and closed her eyes for just a moment.

"You look terrible," Aranya remarked to Selwyn as a woman attended to him. "But at least you don't look dead."
"Thank the Seven neither of you look dead," Elane said, dressing Selwyn's wounds. More men were being brought in, and she heard Steffen muttering feverishly. "Both of you rest," she said. She got up and went to attend to other wounded.

Lilith awoke with a start, dawn light beginning to creep through the ballroom. She went and changed in her chambers and then came back to check on her patients. A 100 of then men she had rescued from the field last night had died. The cold of the jousting yard had been deadly for many. These were also the men they found late at night so had been in field the longest. She managed to move most of them inside where they could be tended better.
By the time the day was in full swing in the ballroom, she could tell that a number of her patients had recovered sufficiently to rejoin their brothers in the barracks. Most men in the ballroom were the men of Casterly Rock, those who suffered the slings and arrows of outside attackers, and they doing well. It was her dead men who worried her.

Lord Baldwin enters the ballroom and looks around the room, seeing his daughter he rushes to her and hugs her tight to his still armored form. Smiling he whispers something in Elena's ear. Then lets her go and watches as she returns to her work.
Looking back at the door he looks at Sers Jayson Plumm, Tomas Clegane, Timm Vikary and Piers Bettley. Bardwyn was outside commanding the crews cleaning away the bodies. Except for Piers, not one these men were in his council before the war and now they were his most trusted men. War had a way off brushing away the rabble.
Seeing Steffen lying in a bed Baldwin walks to his nephew, he whispers, "Steffen, Clearly I do not have the men to take Riverrun right now. I will still try and get it for you. But through diplomacy no war. I am sending Piers. Surviving that beast's previsions has made you something of a legend, God Ser Wyrm."

Lilith nodded with approval as Baldwin talked gently and encouragingly to his nephew. She had seen few cases of men with as great a will to live as Ser Worm, his wounds would have killed almost anyone else.
She then looked up and just beyond the door saw Piers. He was alright, and her heart filled with a relief so great it shocked her. She found she couldn't move, and just stood there and stared.

Ser Piers says something to Jayson Plumm and then walks over to Lilith with a large smile on his face, "I hear many speak of the Saint of Casterly Rock, to see her in the flesh. It gives me goose bumps."
Pausing a moment, he adds in a serious voice, "Thank you Lilith. Appreciation is probably not enough, but it is well deserved."

Selwyn rises when he sees Lord Baldwin enter the room. When he is done speaking with his nephew Ser Steffen, he takes the chance to bow to the Lord of the Rock and offer his congratulations.
"Mi'lord Lannister. I realize you know little of me, but I am Ser Selwyn Stone, the Bastard of Runestone. I only want to congratulate you on a victory most difficult, and the honor you showed in defending your lands. When my wounds are healed I shall likely return to the Vale, but I feel honored to have stood amongst your defenders whose courage was an inspiration."
"Please let me know if there is any message I can relay to my brothers, either the Lord Breyn Royce or Ser Rhodri Royce, the Redspear."

Lilith managed to get her breath back and grinned back at Piers. "Somebody had to clean up after you men, you're all so messy."
Then she just drew him in and hugged him. "You know," she said in a quiet voice. "I am disconcertingly relieved to see you walking in here on your own two feet."

Ser Piers looked surprised, "Worried about me? Milady knows me not at all. I am a warrior of a different battlefield. I was concerned about you being trapped in the Rock, surrounded by 30,000 raving warriors, all ready to rape and pillage. And you worry about me. You needn't have; I saw far less carnage then you." He holds her for a moment shaking his head in amused fashion.

Baldwin looked at Selwyn, "Ser Bardwyn mentioned your bravery to me earlier. I thank you for helping defend my home. You will always be welcome in these walls." Baldwin nods to the man. "I have no message for your brothers at the moment."

"Thank you", says Selwyn, "It has been a honor to see the great Houses of Lannister and Royce grow close with common cause."
Selwyn leaves the Lord Lannister to continue his rounds.
